Is removing your glove a shark move?

When opponents start trying talking or sharking I'll stand there and ask if there done with the BS ! Or if they have to stand in front of the pocket I'm shooting a ball into . I've had friends who would intentionally jump a cue ball off the table hitting them with it just to start a fight !

Yes where I grew up was a bit rough and tumble at times ha ha
Another thing they would do is chalking their pool cue hard enough to make it squeak and wouldn't quit until you missed the shot ha ha
Many were sore losers !

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

I think this has nothing to do with pool skils. usa is just fine. This or that player thats not of a big difference. Other things matter here more.
Usa was not the team. Skyler is not the captain. Shaw is. Even more, Skyler is a poison to the team.
This is team event, in form which is unusual in individual sport like pool, and your behavior can affect the team seriously.
Dude complained to Ghorst that he left him cue ball to close to the nine when he missed on 2:2 against Filler/Neuhaisen, and he smacked it way to hard.
Cmon.. like go f yourself dude..
Can you than imagine other stuff that was happening.
Shane looked totaly emotionless, Ghorst didn't showed up. Billy did his best, Tyler could be better. But, they weren't a team. Europe was.

Todays Sneaky Pete cues

You watch someone’s stroke and in a few minutes you will see if they can play - cue does not matter at all if you want to size up ability.
If a player exhibits very strong final focus combined with the cue tip finishing all the way through the cue ball - on a consistent basis - good chance they can play a bit. The third obvious sign of possible strong play involving the stroke is seeing a very smooth transition from cue back to cue forward regardless of bridge length - which can vary from Bustamante to Hopkins visually.
Yep. When you know, you know. 👍

Custom and High End Cues on the Decline?

Contact the known top five makers in the U.S. and they will have long wait lists . There are less cue makers. Less people seeking customs as new, but there is still a core demand for the best makers. Only a deep economic depression would kill the industry.
I’m 53 and when I was first playing 30 plus years ago there was a lot of custom cues being played with and now It’s pretty rare. A big one around here was joss cues. It’s only like a 30 min drive away. So many people played with one and now I never see one and if I do it’s a much older player who’s had it forever.
I don’t think the industry will die but it’s not what it used to be. What may skew that for me is we have no pool halls in my area so all you really see are your bar league players and that doesn’t seem to be their thing. Maybe if you’re fortunate enough to goto pool halls you see a different kind of player.
