Sincere thanks for all your contributions to our pool ball collecting thread these past twelve months. They were all very much appreciated.
I’ve been endeavouring to curate the fifty-four sets in my personal collection recently, updating exhibition cards to record historical provenance with more information and better images than past attempts.
I would like to share some of those cards here for peer review over the next few weeks if I may. They are works in progress, dear reader, and still require the addition of several photographs before completion but any comments or suggestions for improvement would be gratefully received.
my point is pretty clear: anyone that buys a cue/golf club/bowling ball/darts/whatever the fk based on what some pro uses is an idiot. this topic comes up almost weekly: what does so-n-so use for their tip/cue/wrap/chalk/scuffer. pick your equipment based on your game/stroke/ability/budget/etc and don't worry about what some pro does. Folks these players could WAIL on every member of AZ with a pos house cue. Book it.
Yes, your point was pretty clear and I agree with you: it's absurd to use a piece of equipment because some pro uses it. Unfortunately, that's not what the thread is about: the OP went nowhere near discussing that or recommending anything like that. It raised a question about the numbers related to the CF vs wood trend among professional players. Quite a few forum members, none of them idiots as far as I can tell, found it interesting and worth commenting on. You don't approve of the discussion? Okay.
What I get a kick out of is when I go into a bar for pool league and get to see a look that says oh no he's still playing pool !!!
I'm of the mind set that I enjoy it when someone runs the table out on me , because if they can't or don't I'll try my best to run out on them !
When my arthritis isn't kicking my butt to much ha ha !
This has been a odd winter with very little snow so far and the same for wind but we've got more than enough time for mother nature to get caught up on both !
Last winter we couldn't get out of the house as there was enough snow at the outside doors that we couldn't get out without someone digging us out !
So of those snow drifts were as deep as I am tall !
