I know one thing, from now on if I was one of these players playing Appleton in the future, I would make sure I use Masters chalk and chalk my tip a little more than needed.

I'd prefer that no one uses messy chalk like Masters, especially on my table, but that may be impractical in a tournament.

I’m not surprised at all. Does he have a shady past and questionable character?? Absolutely yes.. did he throw the biggest pool tournaments in history and give out the biggest payouts ? Yes absolutely. Both can be true.

I'm not proposing a ban, but that's exactly what a lot of snooker players are asking for. Skids tend to cost them a lot more than they cost pool players.

At those odds I could probably back every player in the tournament and make a profit whoever won it.

I think only table 2 has the ref with a shot clock (plus the arena table). Maybe 3 and 4 have clocks, but I'll have to check. The rest of the tables only have one ref per 4 tables.

It's frustrating to no longer be the dominant player you once were.

These tournaments see balls and tables- new ones- cleaned after each match. The cumulative effect of chalk buildup isn't there.

40 years of tournaments indicates a stable source of funding exists.

The simplest way to do this is run simulations of the tournament using your rating system, or Fargo, or whatever other process you like. Then you can round the outcomes to a set of reasonable values.
