New Firmware Update for the DigiCue

Nat…….what is the outlook for release to the market? I’m eager to be the first player in California’s Central Valley
to get one. The first person I’m sharing it with is Tommy Hill. He is a Master PBIA pool instructor and offers private
lessons and clinics for aspiring pool players. His son, TJ, is also certified as a PBIA instructor. I know they’d help
promote consumer interest in DigiBall and the benefits of using it as a training aid. I knew years ago you were onto
what could become the best training aid ever invented for pocket billiards. Now I’m eager to prove to myself & others
DigiBall is like visiting Tomorrowland at Disney World. The difference is the future is now almost here to enjoy right now.

Dynasphere becomes the official ball set for Matchroom WNT - Multi-year partnership

Ultimate Pool and Matchroom both using the same ball suppliers and cloth now. Interesting they've both made the same moves. Wonder if it's because they are genuinely good products, or just companies offering them good financial terms. I suspect the latter, but don't really have experience of the equipment to judge it so I may be being unfair.
I didn't mean to come across as ornery. Your questions were legit to ask. I am just sad that pool struggles to generate revenue.

As good as Aramith and Simonis are, other competitors have caught up. I am sure MR would have preferred, all things being equal, to stick with them. But if newer companies with high quality products offer notably more money, it's in the interest of Matchroom to pursue it.

Any Good Jon Wilson Stories?

I was digging around in my 'My Documents' folder, and found a copy of the Jefferson City News Tribune article describing the accident that killed Jon Wilson from St. Louis. I only knew Jon for a couple of years right there at the end, but he shared several really good stories with me on the few occasions we spoke.

One that sticks out in my mind is a story he told of a bar table tournament he played in somewhere in the St. Louis area. Louie Roberts was playing in the tournament as well, and he and Jon met in the finals. The way I remember the story (and please bear in mind that my memory is about as long as my... pinky :embarrassed2: ) is that it was a true double-elim format, Louie was in the winner's bracket, and it was a fairly short race, like to 6 or 7. Anyway, Jon apparently won the first break and proceeded to run out the set. Then Jon won the break in the second set and ran out that set as well.

The funny part, he said, was that after it was over Louie came up to him and said something like "I tell you what, I'll play you even on the big table, or I'll take the 8 on the small table". Jon said he basically busted out laughing at that point, as did some others in attendance, at the though of giving Louie the 8 under any circumstances. Jon said he declined, telling Louie that he couldn't play with him, and had just gotten lucky and caught a gear at the right time.

Knowing that Jon did, at least on occasion, have that high of a gear, I'm thinking/hoping that there are some other good stories out there about him?

Thanks,
Aaron

Oh, and here's a link to the Trib article:

I know this thread is quite old but I just now happened on to it.
Wondering if this was the Jon Wilson that grew up in Macon Mo.?
I knew him while in college in Kirksville. Back around 1978. From some of the stories I’m reading here I would guess it’s the Jon Wilson I knew. Very confident in his abilities on the pool table without bragging. It has been a long time since I last saw him. Sorry to hear if it was him that got killed.
