Playing Pool after 50?

I'll turn 52 this month, and I'm getting back into the game after playing only sparsely the past decade or so. It's been a couple of months now but I'm already seeing some improvement, shaking the rust off. The biggest difference I see is that when I started as a teenage and into my 20s I could play all day and I did. I used to go to the pool hall and play 8-10 hours straight. Now I get tired after only 3-4 hours, and as much as I'm enjoying myself, I have to call it a day. But even that is likely just a matter of physical conditioning. I'm not in the best shape at the moment. If I got more exercise, ate better, etc., I might be able to endure a longer session. Either way I plan to continue playing pool as long as I'm able.
Im in the same boat...im 58 now and when i was in my 20's I could do the same but yeah now my back and shoulder is shot. I'm lucky to do 3 hours. But i think i shoot as good as when i was in my 20's maybe even better. I still have the determination but just dont have that drive or killer instinct i used to. When i was younger it may take me a couple of hours to get into the zone where i was running around the table pocketing everything feeling invincible. Now it rarely is going to happen and if it does it wont last long.

Michael Phelan - alleged photos on eBay

If you have the time and energy, documenting your work on Phelan and your photo collection in a book or somewhere else would be a great way to ensure this information is not lost.

I assume you have seen Shamos’ online archive?
I have. I own a website that I am building to document this and more. But I broke 7 ribs and being out of work is costing me a fortune, so the project is on hold.
