And I put "hitting the balls squarely" before "speed" because it's far more important.
👍 Ding Ding Ding 👍
Cole broke with his Joss with ivory ferrule and waterbuffalo tip. He explained it along that line. Surely he could be accurate with a break cue but he was so tuned to the weight balance and flex of his shooter. The slightest change could lower the quality of the results.
He proofed his theories in play.

Mark Wilson on sidespin to pocket balls

What kind of pool player are you gonna be when you grow up, posting at 7am?
He had just got home from Denny's after playing all night to get his room rent. That's what kind of player Larry is. (Anyone who has not ended up at Denny's after an all night session -- well, until 5AM -- has led a very sheltered life. You don't ever go to Denny's -- you end up at Denny's.)

As for using outside to help the ball in, I think that technique is less useful with the new chalks that keep the cue ball cleaner. Mike Sigel was a strong advocate of outside when possible, but he learned on the road under varying conditions. If skids are a problem for you in general or on a shot in particular or on a dirty table, outside is going to let you play the shot with more confidence.

Pool Ball Collecting.

What is the set that is the center cet in the ball rack. Would it be possible to get a Pic of just those? Very interesting.
Greetings, coming up the requested picture, and what little information I have regarding the set. All of the balls weigh, on my scale, between 5.709 oz and 5.767 oz. Balls 1-15 all measure between 2.24" and 2.247". The cue ball weighs 5.747 oz and measures 2.2215", but I am unsure if it is original to the set. There are also pictures of the box balls came in, but I am unsure if the box is original to the set either, and so unsure whether Crown Jewel is appropriate.

It would be great to learn more about them

These balls are neither for trade nor for sale.

Here goes.

DCC one pocket speed-up rule

Might as well just call it the 'Derby City Dead-Money Classic' then.

What do you mean by "Dead Money"? I think people would be very surprised if Jeffrey De Luna won any event. Is he "dead money"?

Why don't we just have Filler and Gorst play an all-around and call it a day? I agree that most people in this event can't win. However, the dead money isn't only people who are amateurs...it's also pro-players. Look at the banners that have increasingly few players on them.

I, for one, don't want professional or amateur pool reduced to only those that are "not dead money", because that would leave maybe 10 players.
