That's true.... what really sucks is you could say to your team...."Meet you at the Splash Bar"....Now I guess you can say, "Hey guy's I'll meet up with you at the 3rd slot machine on the left near the Monte Carlo tower elevators."

I guess those crotchety old bar tenders finally ran everyone completely off. The location was great but that bar had the absolute worst service of any place I have ever been. Horrible.

Be interesting to see where everyone ends up going this year. The round bar near the front of the casino is the only place I can think of and that is way small compared to the Splash bar.

I guess they figure it is cheaper to have slot machines that no one plays in that space instead of a bar no one can get a drink at. Bummer.

Isn't the slots of fun still across the street .....? I know the "Ho" is gone , but dollar Heineken and Corona is hard to beat .....

The best bar nearby is inside of the Peppermill .....

Looks like the Fireside Lounge at the Peppermill is gonna get a lot more action!

So true... I have many candid moments that only could happen from the Splash Bar... It's a shame.

That is so sad. I am staying at the riv because of my ref class. I don't want to catch at cab to be there by 8 o'clock in the morning. BTW, how many pool players are up by 8 o'clock in the morning? (Luckily, it's really 10 am my time.) Hopefully, some of you guys will be there. Will there be an AZ room? I would like to be a part of it. I dunno who sponsors it but tell me where to donate. Thanks y'all.

I agree, if you could get one of them aholes to look at you with money in hand they would act like they were doing you a huge favor by getting you your $6 beer. I loved the bar and the people but will not miss the service from the people there.

Ha ha... reminds of when I asked one of the bartenders to borrow a bottle openner (to open my beer from the convience store!) ... he was pissed! :)

I won't miss that bar when there are so many options if I want to drink in Vegas.

Tar bar

The Splash Bar will be rebuilt but not in time for the BCAPL event.

But, the TARPIT (the action report room) will have a bar in it this year. Be great for socializing and maybe watch some good matchups. Should have some 7' and 9' tables.

With over 100 pro players PLUS 7,000 amatuers, something might happen.

Hopefully eveyone will have good times this year. We all now the economy is tough but lets all hope or the best.

See you there.

The Splash Bar is dead. Long live the TAR BAR !!

:D

Should be pretty cool this year. I think we will get some of the action that usually goes out of the hotel to local pool rooms to stay at the Riv so people can sweat it.

Instead of doing the big challenge match thing with paid entry we figured we might as well do what everyone wants to do when they come to Vegas anyway and just have a party.

The TAR BAR will have pool tables, a bar, and if I can talk Mark into it I swear we are gonna put a stripper pole in that bad boy. True story.

:D

Then you need to bring in the strippers.....I don't want to see Chad on a pole.
