So, now that we're less than 2 weeks from the Expo dates, who is going? Why?

I'm going to see the artistic pool Masters competition (upstairs) and to work in the Crown Cues booth, (downstairs) at L12.

Planning to have an autograph book with me, as well as some cool stuff. We will also have info on the limited edition playing cues and masse' cues Gene is making to help rebuild the workshop that was blown away by a tornado, in December.

I hope everyone will stop by the booth! Gene is planning to have a few nice masse' cues ready, as well as some playing cues. We'll be sharing a Diamond table with Triple Cross Cues, who will be in the booth next door... L13... his lucky number, he says.;)

Who else might we see at the Expo?

you forgot to add.....party in the Blue Grotto....bark up some action....see old friends.....lemme think I"ll come up with some more... :)

Did not!!! "Something else" is listed right there!:grin::D:D

Missing poll answer choice: "shop the vendor booths"

I'll be there, competing in the Amateur Open.

You forgot to add the following to the poll choices:

[ ] shop the vendor booths

Don't forget this is a very important aspect of Super Billiards Expo; we have to support the vendors that support us pool players! One hand washes the other, you know.

I'll most likely have my black or gold "Bank on, brother!" Freddy the Beard shirt on, as well as the obligatory AZBilliards keychain attached to my cue case. But then again, I'll probably be in amongst a sea of others wearing the same type of shirt and sporting the same keychain on their cue cases, sort of pool's version of "Agent Smith." :D

Hoping to meet some AZ'ers there!

Oh, man!!! You are so right!! I was going to post this thread last night and didn't get to. Shopping WAS on my original list. When I set the poll up, today, I was in a hurry. I meant to have "buy" as a selection, but obviously overlooked it. Sorry. I guess you guys will have to check the "something else...." box and then fill us in.

So, are you going to buy? If so, what do you plan to buy?

Items I personally want to shop for

Thanks for asking, JesPiddlin! I'm pretty much "set" on cues, cases, and accessories (tip tappers/shapers, et al.) and tips (stock ElkMaster). However, if something catches my eye, I'll definitely stop in my tracks and make it a point to chat it up with the vendor. Who knows what you'll find -- especially at this pool players' treasure hunt known as Super Billiards Expo! However, these are the two things I'm on the hunt for:

1. Since I'm pretty fanatical about the care and feeding of my shafts, I'm always on the prowl for shaft refinishers, conditioners, sealers, etc. Someone always has a new idea and product, and seeing that shaft maintenance is an ongoing thing, I'm always "game" to give a new product a go. When walking through the vendor booth aisles, this is the type of product I'll initially have in mind. But like I said, you never know what you'll find! (Interesting thought: I wonder what an InsidePool-esque "What's in your case?" poll on AZBilliards would reveal about our viewer populace!)

2. Another thing that I'm on the prowl for, that I saw last year but the guy who made them sold 'em all and left SBE early on the last day (when was finally able to make it there), was that wooden tripod with velcro that attaches to *any* existing tubular cue case and makes your cue case self-standing and convenient to place and remove your cues from. When done playing your match, you just place your cues back in the case, close it up (all while the case is still self-standing), pick up the case and fold the two tripod legs in, and toss the case on your shoulder as you normally do. (The only caveat is that this device, with its two wooden legs folded in against the side of your tubular case, makes your cue case look somewhat like pool's version of the space shuttle with its "booster tanks" strapped to the side. :D ) But this is a minor thing in my eyes. I gotta hunt that guy down and get one before he sells 'em all out again!

Wow! Sounds like you know what you're after! I like those case stands you're talking about. My case does pretty good on it's own, but I know a lot of them don't.

Well, stop by and see us, while you're there!

When I'm not playing, I'll be in the TAR / Pool Lessons Online booth....so make sure you stop by to say HI.

I'll be there working a gig for Inside Pool Magazine as a commentator for the professional pool matches. We'll be doing the FREE Live Streaming, recording the matches for DVD and interacting with the Chat Room so tune in if you stay at home. You can probably get the link for the Free Live Streaming on March 19 at www.insidepoolmag.com or www.spheragon.com

I'll try and print this thread out so I can know who to look up where. When I take a break from the booth, I'll be looking for someone else to do the talking. :D

If U C ME at the superbilliards expo, say :wave3:
(I promise to do the same)

You guys aren't doing the Artistic Pool Masters competition, upstairs, are you? Just curious. I didnt' see that listed.

I do believe FREE is the way to go on this one. So many folks wanna go and it will give them a good idea what they are missing, so maybe they will be more likely to save up for it, next year.

See you there! You better come sign my autograph book!

1. to get my tipped changed
2. play for some dollars
3. watch some great action
4. hopefully to play in the tourney

Any more out there???? I know at least a couple of ya are going! Whar ya at?

Who all is driving to the Expo? We're driving there and back from Oklahoma. Going up near Detroit on our way there, so I can see my grandmother, finally. (She's doing a lot better and thanks to all who sent their prayers out to the family when she was in the hospital.)

I wonder if there's a way we can identify our cars to help another AZer recognize us as we happen to be driving in the same direction.....?????

Maybe we could print out our usernames and post them in the rear window of our cars, along with AZBilliards logo or something????? Then, if we run into other AZers, we could travel in groups.

I cant make it for the whole 4 days, and I thought maybe I could buy a
one way ticket for friday evening, but the cheapest is $ 130.00, so I think
I'll just jump in the car and try to get there my midnight friday. I have a
ride home on sunday, just cant leave before friday evening. I'll definitely
put a sign up in the back of my window, but I'm almost positive I'll be the
last one to show up.:o

I'm confused.... You are going to jump in the car and drive up. Then, you have a ride home on Sunday. What are you going to do with the car? Or, are you talking about jumping in a rental car?
