Hello all,

I would love to see works of Paul Mottey and ask you to share it here, in this thread.

Also, any information about Paul is greatly welcomed and appreciated - for example if you talked with him, where and how did he begin, what was he like when talking with him, his ideas, anything you might recall when thinking back to him.

Now seriously, that cue is very-very nice, I like the emphasized Hoppe ring a lot and the appearance of the two inner veneers, it makes the point look longer and it matches very nicely the inlay in the points. Super sharp design - finally the perfect occasion to call a design sharp! Opting for the thicker silver ring recalls the appearance of most Bushkas, especially with the stainless joint. Very nice cue, thank you for sharing!

Any thoughts on the way it plays? How do you feel about it, compared to your other cues? Sorry for all the questions but I am really interested

HouseMan: I love those two with the Bushka rings, especially the one pictured first. It must look very nice with that busier forearm and plainer butt sleeve - still the balance of its appearance is held very-very nicely.

Shamadam: four points without veneers, plain black collars and a Hoppe rings. These kinds of cues deserve the name 'invented' by Jerry Franklin: Pacifier! Super nice cue, I bet it plays very solid.
Edit for question: have you ever counted the numbers of parts in the 314 shaft on the bottom of the picture? On that picture it doesn't seem to have 10 parts, rather 8 or six? Or is it just the picture?

Thanks for a nice compliment on my mottey...it took me awhile to find the design i want on my cue...on the buttsleeve it was jut an additional diamond...it shouldn't be there but Paul gave me his honest opinion that it will not be balance because the forearms will be loaded and the buttsleeve will be just plain so he advised me to add the 4 diamond ivory inlays. which it end up great......it took me a couple of racks to get use to a regular mottey cues...it has a nice balance...i was using a schon ltd 1033 with 30" predator shafts...schon butt has a thinner size compare to my mottey...which it has a big different on how you grip it...I prepared 12.6 to 12.7 mm shaft as long is 30" long....and he made it perfect pro tapper 12.67mm...it has more control to the cue ball..and it has a forward balance on it...I think its one of the best cue i have ever used ....however, i am still keeping my schon as my back up..its hard to let go my schon specially i have been using it for more than 5 years...lol...if you want to get a mottey you won't regret it...if you ever get a mottey please share it with us :thumbup:

I mentioned it humble because its not that fancy or highend..just a simple mottey cue but it plays great..your mottey is very classic..i like it alot ...and im sure its deadly :thumbup:...so im sure you will give 6 and out right? :grin:

That is - just as Jamie put it - the baddest, biggest Mottey to date! I love his cues with scrimshaw in them but I always preferred inlays more and that is what makes yours my favourite. Super nice design with a perfect flaw to it.

Great cue, love the veneer rings with the Ivory. I sold a Mottey that had Amboyna & veneer rings. It wasn't as loaded as your cue but still very nice. I will try to locate pictures.
