There's a lot of options out there for the modern pool player. I want to get a feel for how some of the different products have proliferated the sport. Back in the day, there was no replacement for leather.

No, seriously. Leather was all there was.

Nowadays, you've got plastics, resins, composite materials. What do YOU use?

I have an X-Break cue. I don't know what they called the tip, but it's suppose to be much harder than phenolic.

I just recently started using a jj jump break with a phenolic tip, and I like it a lot!

White Diamond all the way. I wont ever go back to anything else! I have spent too much money looking for what i like lol

I use what ever is on the cue I am playing with. I play with a Hard Kamui and have been for 2 years break/play/jump no problems.

But I guess if I had to choose a different tip I really like the green G-10. I is porus enough to hold chalk and allow me to jump using english plus it has a nice sound that makes some folks cover their ears.

I guess the real question is are you asking this for a stand alone breaker or a multi use cue.

I myself am a firm believer that if you can't do everything with one cue parctice more and save your money.
