Hi all my beloved fellow AZB brothers and sisters, how are you all doing? I just had a very good day today and thought I'd share it with many of you who I find to have a great opinion on events.
First off, one of our AZB members decided to come to my town and I had the pleasure of meeting him and shooting a few balls with him, Eric. Eric, thank you very much for the great time, don't try to sneak the waitress our tab next time or try and pay for anything, next time you come around, everything is on me, EVERYTHING!
I have to say Eric is a everything the word kind, respectful, friendly and stand-up describes. I'm looking forward forward to seeing you whenever you come back to town, enjoy the birthday party tomorrow! This is my first time getting to know one of our fellow members.
Here is my second first.... this was pretty funny actually. Eric, my best friend and I were to meet at the Olathe's very own Shooters. This is my second first today, my first visit to Shooters, and I have to say, the girls are hot, the pool tables are great and the people there are are cool. Unknowingly, Eric has signed me up for their Friday night tournament, this was my first ever tournament and I was pretty excited. My third first.
Just to let you guys know how I did on the tourney, I must say, I did horrible and I finally realized that I do not play good at all :embarrassed2:
We had a race to 4 on 9-ball. Alternate break and rack your own balls (Eric, thank you so much for racking for me with my handicap hand :thumbup
First match, 4-0 I lost, second elimination match, another 4-0 I lost. I am horrible lol.
After my first match, Eric and I sat down to watch a few of the players match up. I finally got a chance to see Dave Matlock, the famous "king of the Bar Box" shoot and I must say, I am more than shocked to see a player with such skill level shoot. My fourth first. I must go back to get some lessons with Dave, I definately think he can help me out a lot.
After my second defeat, I finally understand why people tell me that tourneys would help me become a better player, because I got destroyed and now I have to pick myself up and knock'em dead :banghead:
After sitting around with my best friend, he got a bit bored, so we asked for a 9ft Diamond Pro table to play on. My fifth first, since this was my first time playing on the much talked about Diamond tables. The pockets are like some of the older convenient store owners I know, mean but also remind me of a fat kid like myself trying to squeeze through a small door, tight! Another expression I would throw out there is, yes the tables can almost be categorized as drunk college girls (Sorry ladies), they are fast, and their bumpers are responsive of course that excludes the tight part (Don't be offended ladies, I have the utmost respect for women).
I couldn't pocket much on the Diamond being that I am use to playing on a GCIII. The GCIII pockets are much more forgiving compared to the Diamonds. So there is my five First encounters for today and I hope you guys enjoyed reading as much as I did experiencing it.
