OTLB Rail extension

Seriously, if someone showed up to do my table with carpet tack strips or 2 sided tape, I would slam the door in his/her face. (as soon as I regained my composure from laughing my ass off of course)

And for the extensions, you'd be better off adding a facing or 2 and saving up the money to have it done right instead of butchering a table up with those little turds. C'mon get serious here.

Like I said, for those of you who know what I did, it really isn't that easy, Glen will tell you that.

And get ready for full rail extensions

And get ready for full rail extensions
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If a ball was struck with speed at these extensions, will the "wedged" design hold it in place well enough, or is there something else holding them in place that I can't see in the pictures?

Keep up the R&D OTLB.

these will be able to receive balls at warp speed. Have developed a unique way of installing these. Hoping to have them in production for the Vegas show

carom plug sets

Here is a carom plug set from the 1870s.

Next, another set from after the turn of the century. Notice the replacement frame machined out of a block of 6061 aluminum, and the replacement brackets formed out of mild bar stock.

There are many variations of this, here is another. Problem with older plugs is they were fit at the factory and don't hold well. For those of you on ebay, you can attest to the fact that I have sold at least 6 dif variations of these all the way up to the ones for Centennials. Its not a new idea but mine are. Yes there were plugs made some time back for GC's and maybe someone can post some pics of those.

Plug project is now complete and have my first order. I rate this job at 3 staples. Do plugs make table play as if it was a true billiard table? well of course not. But when you consider the fact that out of almost 300 running inches there is only the problem of where they meet the existing cushions the percentage is high, Will let my good friend Glen do the math. You can place shims under the rails to use normal size billiard balls. In all seriousness I want to thank all of you guys for inspiring me beyond my normal level of crazy thinking. Don't take this the wrong way but my spreadhseet of ideas grows faster than I can swat them down. To make plugs work better you can take off existing rail facings if your really serious. Yes thats my idea to. Wish Al Conte was still here for this, who knows maybe he is!!!! Now today I am ordering some rails from that Penguin fellow( ordered his video on rails and its excellent) and am going to tighten up a bar box in town somewhere.

Please excuse my drivel.

As a side note, I am going to put on some Artemis and see what performance differences there are over my existing superspeed( am open to requests). To me theres more to this stuff than just saying this way is better etc, why can't we just prove it. This has probably been my best lesson here, you guys just keep telling me to prove it. Figuring ways to prove it helps me create. I will never have as much experience as lets say men like Jay who runs A-1 billiards( I consider him to be more than likely one of the very best), or my friend Glen who I like to do battle with) but I getherdone. We are only a small group in here and I wish it was more friendly. Yes I already know I am an asshole at times but mostly only after being provoked.

Sorry I am not going to post pictures of the finished plugs until after the show which I hope to attend with my new product line. I hear the show is going to bomb so I am not sure if it will be worth it.

And to end my drivel will someone please pm me a contact for a fair price on Artemis.

thanks John

Oh I thought everyone read my posts, sorry. thanks John forget the carpet tape in the corners, although it may help you do a good job as it does hold for a short while which would let you staple after.

I followed this thread early on , but when the posts became negative is when I lost interest. You do fine work John.

thanks, its actually very difficult to cut extensions with a compound angle. tac strips - I can't see how cloth can be put on any tighter. Am looking forward to using them on the Diamond I sold.

I think the difficulty comes in not knowing how. After seein RKC do what he does it all makes sense. He has the answer to these as well as other unsolved questions. I can only state that I feel so lucky to get to see first hand that he can walk the walk after talkin the talk .His compond angle fix is the dead nuts... Ya'll pay attention, the is much to be learned. I hope you get the chance.Thanx Glen, what does tomorrow bring ??

exactly, knowing makes all the difference
