Who mentored the Pros...???

I second this. Can someone shed the light here please? Bandido, anyone?
I have always wanted to know who mentored efren.
They might not neccesarily have had mentors. Mosconi, Greenleaf and Lassiter didn't have mentors.
His name is Lucky and he lives in Angeles City. I played pool with him my last trip there. 1000p a game Eight Ball. True story!
Hey Jay, how old do you think Lucky is? How do you rate his game? shortstop, A, B etc? Is he also the mentor for Parica?

Not a mentor exactly, but Mosconi said he learned a lot from playing Greenleaf on a long road trip in 1933-34 with over 100 exhibitions. Ralph didn't teach him anything intentionally, but Mosconi learned by watching and it changed his style of playing position.
i know there's alot of players in the Philippines right now that are getting tips from Efren.i remember Alex Pagulayan was telling me that he used to watch Efren play and practice his shots.i think Filipino players are lucky that they have Efren who loves to share his knowledge and skills to the rising stars.i couldn't find the video where there were 5-6 pros standing around the table and Efren was showing them a shot.Well as we say Efren is a God of Pool.Whoever mentored him must be a very strong player back then.

That's probably it.Maybe that is the reason why he always says he's lucky because he always wanted to be like his mentor "Lucky".

I would guess late 60's. He can still play. I'm guessing he was a very good player years ago. When I played him we both used house cues (crap) for a while. I had a tip tool which I used to fix my tip. He didn't. I won the first four games. Lucky sent a kid to bring his cue. In minutes the kid came back with a case with a custom cue inside. Then he played much better and won his money back before I quit. The cue gave him an advantage over me.
He woofed at me to play One Pocket for 10,000p a game. He said he would bring his friend to play me. I asked him if his friend was named Efren? I told him I would play him (meaning Lucky) for 10,000 a game One Pocket, but not his "friend". That was where it ended, a stalemate. This just happened last year. I met Lucky in a poker game in a nice hotel in Angeles. An Australian guy in the game had a cue with him (everyone carries cues over there). Lucky started talking about playing pool so I asked him if he wanted to play me. One thing led to another and pretty soon we were in action in the hotel bar. Over there all the tables are nine footers. No bar tables anywhere!
The best player in Angeles now is Singapore Johnny. I played on his bar team one night and won all my games (Eight Ball). I even got the girl.
You know, come to think of it, I wonder how Lucky got his name. I'm guessing it's from years ago when he got "lucky" playing pool.

I think i remember reading somwhere that Alex got that old schon that he won the WPM w/ from Paul Thornley
