Buying a Lucasi

I have the opportunity to buy the cue linked below locally. Cue has about 3 hours of play on it, 2 of which were me playing. It has a Moori tip already put on it.

Feels pretty good to me, I can get it for $300.

Thoughts?

Can't see any link. I don't know all the Lucasi models, but I didn't think they make many cues over $300. I am sure they do, but the average Lucasi is under $250, I think. If it feels good to you, that is the biggest thing.

Good call, edited to include link.

Now that's a high end Lucasi. Looks like a nice cue. There will be ones who will tell you to buy a custom cue for around the same price. I have my opinions on that to, but buy what you like. If you bought a $660 cue for $300 and it is almost new, then I don't think it would be a bad buy. Good luck!

300$ is a very good price! if you like it, i dont think you can get it cheaper anywhere.

No offense but I have to ask WHY. There is an old saying you get what you pay for, and that is a two edged sword. The best production cues made are made in the USA, and you will have no problem if you need to use a cues warranty. There are many good cues made right here why buy something that will never be collectible, and will lose it value like a car driven off the car lot.

Just my thoughts

for that price he could get a good used sneaky

I was at pool league last night and a kid was hurting for money. he had a Lucasi Sneaky Pete...I bought it for 30.00. It hits ok, not exactly what I like though. I have a custom Sneaky I bought from a cuemaker on here that I paid 300.00 for and if it was me, I would just buy a custom one and be happier in the long run..

But, if that cue feels good to you and has a good hit...id say go for it, then you will never know what your missing in a true custom cue

for 300 you can get a really nice Joss or McDermott.

For 300, you can get a nice custom player from some of the guys on here.

What I would do is to first post in the For Sale Thread "I have 300 in my pocket, what do you guys have for me?". Shop around.

Ive shot with Lucasi's for years, and have always been pleased with them.

Best of luck with your new cue.

All that matters is that you like it.

The only thing about production cues are they can change parts from time to time. This means if something goes wrong with your cue it's a chance they don't keep parts for it.....
It happened to me with the lucassi and that's what the company told me too.

I have a friend that wants that same cue, Ive been trying to talk him out of it for a month. lol. He's not listening.

and FTR; what Bryan said is right... All that matters is that U like it.

I really have to laugh at the opinions about certain manufacturers cues.
There are a lot of cues that are made overseas that are production cues that sell for less money then american made cues and have inlays in them also. I do not want to get into a big discussion about this subject but I shoot with one of them production cues (Imperial) just because I have been using that stick for years. I sell pool tables, cues, cases, and more and can use many different brand sticks. To me its the shooter and the knowledge they possess that makes them good. If you have a halfway decent stick and the tip you like on it then that whats important.
Don't get me wrong a nice custom made cue by a reputable cue stick maker might retain its value over the years and if they become well known enough and get a good reputation for cue making then the stick can also go up in value. Like I have a palmer that is worth more than I paid for it etc. This is only my opinion as I am considered one of the best shooters in my area and for business reasons I play on 4 different nights in 4 different leagues and have won in numerous tournaments locally.
Thanks
Ron

I have had 2 "Higher End" Lucasi cues. One with a 314 Shaft and the other with a Z Shaft. I wish I never would have sold them. They shot very well. But as said before, if it feels good to you then get it :-)

My buddy has one of these. On a couple occasions I left my cue at home and used his. I like it. Feels good. Looks modern (not sure if nice is the word). I can't tell if it has real inlays. The grip is like a golf club. If you like it then it is great. I prefer the feel of a wrapless but to each there own.

I have owned a Lucasi before. It was ok but on soft short shots it seemed to have a lot of vibration/feedback. The hybrid didn't have that issue. It felt very solid.

Personally I would look for something else but at $300 this is a pretty good deal. I say go for it.

luccassi is a nice cue and they have gotten alot better then there past cues but i would post in the Wanted and Forsale "i have 300 to spend" and see what people have???? you might get a nice custom thats not available in a catolog but thats me and if that cue hits good to you and its what you want well... whats stopping you??

A friend of mine has one that has that bushka look to it and uses their (LD version shaft). And dang it feel nice, nice balance, great feel, the finished workmanship is also top notch.
I cant tell you how many people I either have known or do know that shoot with either some cheaper looking or out right crappy stick and will beat the tar out of most people they match up with.

Only 3 hours old? If it was a private seller I'd be wary but what an awesome deal, get it fast!
