I barely remembered to snag some shots of our local pool hall, tonight. After I left, I realized I should have taken one from a particular corner that I missed. Oh well.

This is the Q-Spot, in Tulsa, OK. They get pretty doggone busy. Lots of families and friends. Friday and Saturday nights are 8 and 9 ball tournaments, respectively. No smoking, no drinking, respectable clothing and language, etc.. They take pretty good care of their equipment, too. Fine, upstanding folks.

These pics were taken quite late on a Thursday night, during a lull in business, so I could show you a picture of the actual pool room and not just lots of people. :D

Looks like 1986 ! :D I like it. Reminds me of places I started playing at and went to alot.
Love the domino tables as well. My old home room had three domino tables that got loads of action.

Nice to see the kids in there playing. Was that an old coke bottle carrier for them to stand on under one of the tables??

Thanks for the pictures. Hope you have many good nights there.

I've been to the Q Spot a few times, its just off Memorial if I remember correctly, nice little place.

No, it's actually west of Sheridan, on 31st Street. It has been under new ownership for about 3 years. Mr. Ken Ken and Cheetah have done a great job making it a very comfortable atmosphere for any age.

And yes, frankncali, those are pop cases under the tables, for the short folks to use. And, the look is VERY 1980's. What is most important is the friendly atmosphere, the care of the equipment and good prices. They've got them all. We really like it, there.

They're having an 8 ball tournament, tonight.

I was thinking of the old billiard palace but I have been to the Q Spot, let me see if I get it right this time, is there sort of an old strip mall across the street that used to have a dollar movie theater on one end of it?

That's the one!

The previous owner let the tables get into real bad shape.:eek: We only went there a few times. The had cheap prices, but they just didn't take care of the equipment. I'm not going to tell you what it seemed like might have happened on a pool table or two, by the way they sagged in the middle. :shocked2::shocked2: The people were real nice, but the place wasn't worth going to, because you couldn't trust the tables to give you a true game. We were rather disappointed that any pool hall had become so run down.

We were really glad when Mr. Ken Ken took the place over. He has worked hard to keep everything in good shape. The cloth on the tables might have a few acceptable marks from regular play, but they stay in good, playable condition and pretty doggone level, too. (Here's a big plus: the bathrooms are usually clean!!) You just can't ask for a better place to settle for an evening of fun.

Sorry if I sound like an advertisement. We really do enjoy the place, though. It's hard to keep quiet about a place you enjoy that much.

Does the Q-Spot in Tulsa still have a snooker table? If so, what size is it?

There's also a "Q Spot" in Enid on Cherokee Ave. They have a 5 x 10 snooker table.

Yes, they still have a snooker table. Not sure of the size, but it's big, so I bet it's a 5x10. They are getting ready to trade it out for another one, I'm told.

I've been told the place has been open since Nov. 1966. The original guy owned it until he died, in 2001. The next folks owned it from 2001 until 2006. Mr. Ken Ken took it over on April Fool's Day of 2006.

I just called down there to see how he's doing. He's got laryngitis. The place sounded packed. They have 9 ball tournaments on Saturday nights, so it probably is packed.

I'm curious about how you know so much about it. And, do you have any pics of the one in Enid?

Excellent. Thanks very much.

Nope, I found the name and address online and then called to follow up.

I found it when this page came up in a Google search:
http://wimgo.com/events/31188/pool-tournament

I'm compiling a list of all U.S. pool halls, rec centers, and other sites with snooker tables. I have about 170 confirmed listings now and I'll be putting the list online within the next two weeks. I'll be posting a link to the website in the snooker forum and in the main forum.

This is a great pic/thread. I liked it so much that I grabbed a bunch of the pics early on and made two Poster/prints for my personal room.

Cool! Be sure and post a link on this thread, since you already told us about it.
