Pool Hall Photos From All Over.

Here's another outdoor pool room, this time in Vietnam. It looks very comfortable with the sofa and the open-air room, but, man, I'll bet the table cloth is wet. I wonder if the balls skid! ;)

Here's some young chaps playing in Khartoum, Sudan. I have never seen so many outdoor pool areas. I don't think I have seen an outdoor pool room in the States before.

This is a woman who works at a pool hall in Deqin, China. I guess in China mixing stripes and plaids is fashionable. :)

Here is another woman working in the same pool hall in China. Notice the women don't show any skin in China! Very conservatively dressed, I must say.

Man, I would learn how to play billiards if I could play in a place like this room in Tuscany, Italy. Just look at that ceiling! WOW!

Here's a group of locals at a pool room in Johannesburg, South Africa. I guess smoking inside businesses is still legal in South Africa!

Here's a cute shot in Cape Town, South Africa, of men arguing over who's turn it is next looking at the coins left as markers on the table. Security had to step in. Looks like this happens around the world. I've witnessed a few arguments like that in my neighborhood pool room in the past! There must be only one table in the joint!

Here's a couple Masai men in Kenya playing pool. Kenya is a part of President Obama's heritage. :)

Here's another outdoor pool room in Kashgar, Xinjiang, China.

Look at how they have to wear their coats outside to play pool. Wouldn't it be warmer for them to play inside? I don't get it! I never thought of pool as an outdoor sport! :o

Here's a great shot of the Ghani Palace Hotel in Al Alhmadi, Kuwait. I'd love to go shopping there. See the pool table in the back on the first floor? :)

This is a pool bar in Khayelitsha, South Africa, the largest black township outside of Cape Town.

These bars, also known as "shebeens," can be found in every block in the township. They are often are part of a residential house. It's estimated that over one million people live here, most of them under appalling conditions in shacks with no running water or electricity. The township was founded in 1984.

This is a floating bar (boat) in Manaus-Amazonas, Brazil.

Check out those pool balls. I don't think I've ever seen any quite like that. And what are those chalk marks by the side pocket? What do they mean?

Here's a great picture of a very cool lady from England, 90-year-old Maud Knobel of Regent's Park, London.

In this shot, she's enjoying a game of snooker at home with one of her 25 parrots. At one time, she worked at the nearby London Zoo handling parrot post mortems, and keepers from the zoo often drop in on her for a game of snooker.

Go, Maud, go! :)

Texas Judge Roy Bean was known to say "hang 'em first, try 'em later."

Here is a sign that hangs in front of this Texas landmark, Judge Roy Bean's Jersey Lilly Saloon

Interestingly, Paul Newman played Judge Roy Bean in the 1975 movie,
"The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean." I wonder if Paul played any
pool in this movie.
