Movie: Pool Hall Master

That shot Corey made by putting his cue up thru the bottom of the pocket - is that legal?

That's some crazy sh*t right there!

I really don't know if it would be legal. I guess that if you don't talk about what is allowed and not allowed before the game, who knows then. I'm sure that if you go by some BCA, APA, etc. rules, it might not be allowed. But if you're just gambling and don't rule out certain shots, well now you know that there is Corey's shot you have got to bring up. (Or keep it in your arsenal of shots you can use on your opponent.)

I think it was very creative of Corey to come up with that shot. I know I would of never thought of that.

Wait till you see some of his other awesome and creative shots in the movie.

Not in any formal rules. You have to use a cue at least 40 inches long, and you have to shoot downward on a jump shot.

Thanks PJ CHGO. I kind of figured that but didn't quite know for sure. I guess it would almost be considered illegal like the old style jump shots where the ball is hit from underneath.

To everyone who has pre-ordered the movie. Your DVDs will be sent out next weekend.

I hope you enjoy the DVDs as much as I enjoyed shooting with all these great players and some actors that were in the movie. I know to some it will be a strange movie because it doesn't have well known actors. But the way some of these pool players carried their roles. Hollywood beware!

Please e-mail me if you have any questions. My email address is at the bottom of the website.

ENJOY!

The first batch of pre-ordered DVDs went out Monday. The next and bigger batch will be going out Saturday, May 9. We had to make a change. There will be 3 DVDs instead of 2. We changed this so as to improve the quality of the movie. So if you don't get your movie by Friday, it will be going out with the last big batch on Saturday. Accompanying the order will be a coupon for 30% on the NEW Billiards Training Aids, never seen before, that will be a link to www.poolhallmaster.coming in the next three weeks. Thanks for your patience.

FYI:

WPA World Standardized Rules

http://www.wpa-pool.com/index.asp?content=rules_tournament

17. Cue Sticks
Cue Sticks used at WPA competitions should comply with the following
during play at table:

Length of Cue: 40 inches [1.016 m] minimum / No Maximum
Weight of Cue: No minimum / 25 oz. [708.75 gm] maximum
Width of Tip: No minimum / 14mm maximum
8.16 Jump Shot
A jump shot is one in which the cue ball is made to go over an intervening obstacle such as an object ball or part of the cushion. Whether such a shot is legal depends on how it is accomplished and the intention of the shooter. Usually a legal jump shot is played by elevating the cue stick and driving the cue ball down into the playing surface from which it rebounds.

Just the facts, ma'am... (<- Joe Friday)

I watched the first trailer and both of the fight scenes looked almost as good as Tom Cruises award winning kung fu performance in The Color of Money:rolleyes:
