Super Glue "Milk Dud" tips ????

My friend and Captain of my 9-ball team came up with this idea. After several futile attempts to keep a White Diamond tip glued to the ferrule on his break cue (a Cuetec :frown:), I put a Triangle tip back on it and he took it and soaked the tip with Super Glue. Then when it got good and dry he soaked it again. Turned the tip into a Super glue "Milk Dud" so to speak. The tip is rock hard and breaks very well. Since it is leather, it is still legal for BCAPL use. Maybe he's on to something here. I'll monitor his breaks for the next few weeks and see how this thing plays out, but so far, so good. I may try this with one of my house cues!!!

Interesting. Does it hold chalk well? I just installed a White Diamond on my Gulyassy/Samsara with phenolic ferrule/tip combo and it works great. I made sure to groove both the tip and ferrule before I glued it with Locktite 454 gell. Maybe I could have saved a few bucks by using one of my milkduds...
:p

This is against the house rules of the hall I play in, for their monthly tournaments. Super glue is specifically mentioned...
