What do yall think of this video?

It looks like bull to me. The guy keeps moving his bridge hand and the camera angle is to close to figure out where he' actually aiming to begin with.

Another vid. Not sure why the hell they used the broom. Old farts and their Meucci's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCHkZOmO-0s

On that video it was Bob Meucci. The broom was to show the cue butt has no effect on deflection. Meucci did the vid (long time ago) to show his black dots were the lowest deflection. The general idea about low deflection shafts remain as valid now as back then. Newer shafts and poor quality control at Meucci throw the results out the window though.

The guy in the first video has a horrible stroke. Lots of steering. No wonder he doesn't know where the cue ball is going to go. Seems to go straighter through the shot with his "Predator" shaft. Imagine that. Still not a straight stroke. Even on the straight in shot. JMHO.

That guy doesn't even stroke the ball properly, hes smacking it. GARBAGE!!

that wasn't parallel that was back hand steerage :), couldn't believe they had him doing demos in Vegas, his technique is rubbish.

No "high deflection" shaft has that much deflection, unless maybe he drilled a predator hole and filled it with lead. Were those shots intentional miscues? I noticed that we can't hear the cue hitting the cue ball.

I got a little tickled at some of the comments below the video.

that guy is a lot funnier when he's wearing his World War I calvary hat and giving pool lessons at all the conventions, with the expectation that all the spectators will take him seriously.

dr_dave...Dominic (The Drill Sargent) unfortunately has his definitions a little backwards (not to mention a couple of other things too!:D)...cue STICKS deflect...cue BALLS squirt...for starters! However, the underlying comments about these technological shafts, is fundamentally true. They do make it easier to estimate the amount of CB squirt...which, requires some aiming adjustment for most shots. I am playing with the McDermott G-Core shaft, which is McDermott's current entry in the cue shaft aftermarket. The G-Core technology comes from Jerry Powers, of Jerico Cues and Stinger fame! I think it plays better than a Predator...but that's just me! Now, I also play with the custom shafts that came with my Samsaras, and can 'adjust' for their "deflection" easy as pie, because I'm used to them, and they're excellent quality shafts to begin with. The way Dominic 'missed' the edge of the CB, while showing '2 tips of english', with the normal 'custom' shaft was hilarious...it was almost like he didn't chalk the cue purposely, so it would miscue on purpose, at the right moment! LOL

The video has a lot of "marketing" (and maybe a little "slight of hand"), and very little "science," but I like that the video has created some discussion.

If people want to see a "less partial" presentation on the topic, I have links to many squirt (CB deflection) resources here:

deep...Yes, lots of people use 'parallel shift' when applying sidespin. I'm one of them. I know about aim & pivot (backhand english), and can teach it to someone. I just prefer parallel shift myself. It's all about CTE aiming anyway! :D There is no reduction in accuracy, if you have an accurate and repeatable stroke.

Do people actually use parallel english like him???

Hey Scott, you say you use parallel english, but how well do you now about CTE aim? I am interested in pursuing a method of aiming rather then just "seeing the shot..in the zone"

Terry...I teach CTE aiming every day! It's been too many years since your last lesson. Let me come up to Milwaukee and work some more with you, on CTE aiming. You know me...satisfaction guaranteed! :D
