I can't answer you question but I've wondered what happened to him. Seems like he just up and quit pool.

He did one for me last year or the year before for free. I shot him an e-mail and he told me to send an SASE and he returned it with a nice auto picture personalized to me.

sounds more like a mike sigel move. i'm pretty sure rempe signed (free with a smile) a magazine or something for me a few years back.
 
I dont know about 100.00, but I got one from him and Jim Mataya for free while they were at CJ's in Dallas
 
He charged someone $100 to sign a cueball at the IPT King of the Hill, a tournament where, as a HoF member, he was guaranteed thousands in prize money.
 
Let's just dog the hell out of him.

Never met him in person but on videos he always seemed very dignified.

I'd love to get some 14.1 lessons from him but I probably couldn't afford it.
 
Retired from pool. There was some talk of his coming out of retirement but he hasn't far as I know.

Jim Rempe has a signed cue ball product being made and marketed by Aramith. They do not want him signing balls. It is my opinion that he asks for big money so he doesn't have to sign any balls. He does not want to violate any agreement with Aramith.

At the same time he has asked for $100 for a ball signature, with the same breath infact, he has offered to sign pictures or pose for pictures free for his fans.

It is up to you Marissa to make up your own mind, but Knowing he has a good thing going with Aramith, I can't be too harsh about his reluctance to sign a ball. Successful products that pay an endorsement royalty are hard enough to find, let alone sustain.

I for one have seen Jim go out of his way on many occasions to sign items for his fans. Here are 2 examples:

Jim asked me to snap this photo (at the IPT) of he and a player/fan from the UK. He even followed up with me later to make sure I had the address info so the picture would make it to England. The man cares.

Wow, thanks for clearing that up! I remember after it happened it was on the forums, as well, but no one mentioned he had a deal with Aramith. I will edit my original post!
 
Yea, all the times I have met him he has been a super nice guy..Although I have met quite a few very nice pool players.....
