You can find a list of U.S. pool rooms with snooker tables at this website:

http://www.findsnooker.com/

The website includes pages for all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
There's also one honkin' long page for all U.S. listings.

Maps, downloadable files, game rules, and other content will be added to the site this summer.

Thanks to everyone at AzB who helped by providing information and encouragement.

Thanks! I'll contact each of these soon.

Just saw your list. In California, Hard Times - Bellflower has 2 snooker tables, not one as per your list. Both 12' and both covered for golf. At least they did last time I was there about 2 weeks ago.

Hope this helps.

Those tables were deliberated for golf and have been there since at least for 12 years now.

I was planning to visit them this weekend just to play snooker but changed my mind after reading your post. Thanks for the update. Have you been to Golden Cue in S. El Monte on Durfee Ave.?

It's disappointing and frustrating to find not a single standard snooker table in the entire Orange County, CA. eek!!!!

re Rack M Up Billiards in PA: I haven't been there (yet) but I heard their table needs repair (broken top cushion).

Wow. Great work!! Thanks.
Yep, hats off to "Rethunk" for doing a marvelous job of putting together billiards halls across US of "A" that carry snooker tables. Most of'em have become "golf gamlets".:rotflmao1:,

Thanks to all y'all for the info, and thanks for saying "thanks." I'll be making corrections and adding info to the website this weekend.

The more tables that can be identified as golf vs. snooker tables the better. DKhan identified some earlier, and I need to go through some older posts and make sure I've updated the listings.

the previous posters make a good point....many of the snooker tables in the US have pool cloth on them instead of the traditional english napped cloth. that could be something to note in the listings as they get refined.

i don't know what the pocket difference is for a 'golf' type table....are they tighter than normal snooker pockets? snooker pockets are already pretty tight, how much smaller are we talking?

Just in case you are going to track this, I thought I'd add that at College Billiards on El Cajon in San Diego, CA the one 12 footer is covered for golf.

Thanks. That note will appear in the listing when I update the website this weekend.

Will do. I have an open-ended note section for each listing, so I can include information about the cloth and other information about the table. For instance, the listings for Chalkers in California has this note:
"Table has fast, napless cloth for Golf."

Good question. From what I've read and seen in a video or two, on a table dedicated to golf the pockets are often tight enough to just barely allow the ball to pass in. It'd be interesting to get actual measurements from tables.

wow if the golf tables are that tight, then yeah it's not going to be fun playing snooker on them. i don't know anything about golf or why they need pockets that tight...sounds like it's similar to a russian billiards table!

Exactly!

I've only seen one or two pictures of Russian billiards, but it looks brutal.

Please let me know if you have a chance to visit and can confirm this. Thanks.

I updated the site this evening (2009-06-28 @ 8:59 p.m.) and it includes a few more confirmations.

Hi everyone! New to the board here. I've been playing snooker for about a year now and I have to say I'm hooked. Just wanted to add some more locations with snooker tables.

Dodo's Pool Room
128 W Hancock St
Milledgeville, GA 31061
478-452-1512
There are 2 5x10 1920s era Brunswick snooker tables but only 1 is constantly used. The main playing table has possibly the tightest pockets in Georgia. Every Friday night we play 2 or 3 man team for 5 a head and we draw for partners. We'll play all night and early into the morning, sometimes until 3 or 4 AM. Plus the pool time is dirt cheap. I've played 3 or 4 hours straight sometimes and time was only $2 or $3.

The End Rail
3099 Napier Ave
Macon,GA 31204
478-750-8222
The End Rail has 2 5x10 Gandy snooker tables (unsure of age of tables) in excellent condition. The rate is $2 per game and every Saturday they hold a snooker tournament. It begins at around 5 PM and costs $15 to enter. Each 2 man team is determined by a blind draw and a calcutta is held after the teams are drawn. The tournament format is double elimination with only one game played per match. The payout depends on the number of teams, with usually the top 2 spots getting paid. Of course after the tournament is over there is usually action to be found. It's a great way to spend a Saturday either way.

Rudy's Rack & Cue
710 N Jefferson St
Dublin,GA 31021
478-272-9790
There is a Gandy 5x10 snooker table in okay condition. I've only been there once and it was an okay place. The snooker table needs to either be refelted or cleaned very well. The rate is $3 per hour I believe and there are no tournaments held there that I know of. Action may be found but don't count on it. If calling ask for a guy named "Lucky" and he might be able to direct you to something.

I frequently visit the Hole Thang and I've been to Mr. Cue's 2. The table at the Hole Thang is fair. I played on the 12 footer at Mr. Cue's 2 right after they were finished refelting it and it was a treat to play on. Then again it was the first time playing on a 6x12. :D Looking forward to going back if I can find someone to play. The bartender said that most people play 9 ball and one pocket instead.
