For those of you that do not know, Pat and his Accu-Stats team broadcast a Race to 1 Game Show three nights a week at 8:00 PM EST. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/accu-stats-on-location

Wednesday is 9 ball.
Thursday is and interesting version of 8 ball.
Friday is also 9 ball.

Pat wants to know your honest opinions on the show. How can it be improved? What is wrong with it now? What will it take for you to tune in to watch and participate in the live chat.

You are welcome to make your comments here in this thread or come into the chat room and and tell Jim the producer your thoughts.

In an effort to draw more viewers, Pat is giving away any DVD from the Accu-Stats catalog to the lucky registered and online viewer whose name is drawn during the show.

I've watched it four or five times and have enjoyed it.

I like that he removes the one, two and three balls after the break.

I also liked the one time when he would arbitrarily put a shooter on a ten second warning to shoot and do a count down.

Maybe one time they could try a scotch doubles type format?

It would also be cool if a player had one "Pat shoots this for me" card they could play (not on the money ball, though).

Pat Fleming is a class act all the way and best wishes to him and the show.

I honestly have been wanting to see it again. I watched it once. But, I never find out about it or remember it until someone posts when it's done. Maybe Pat could make a post on here BEFORE it starts as a reminder to us. After 30-40 viewings, we should start to remember when it is on and won't need the prompts anymore.:embarrassed2:
It will start in a few minutes.

Slightly off subject but I would BEG Pat to do more tournaments like the golden days when he covered the Sands, world One Pocket, etc. I know lots of these tourneys are gone, but there are others he could film in addition to US Open & DCC on a regular basis.

Pat Fleming has done much good for pool. I wish him all the best in what ever he does.

What he is doing is basically handicapping the game and giving the lessor player a chance to win by sharking the better player.

Last night in the 10 Jackpot, for $500.00 per ball, the player whose ticket was drawn chose Pat to play the rack for him. Pat broke dry!

The Game Show is entertaining and fun to watch. I don't understand why more people aren't tuning into watch.

The Game Show is listed on the Simonis Streaming Guide on the AZB front page but anyone who remembers to do so can also post a reminder here in the forums before the shows begin each week. It really is a fun show to watch.

I saw it last night for the first time. Pat's ceaseless chatter is what makes it work. It is also interesting to see regular players, making regular player mistakes. I also found it interesting to see somebody I had played at SBE playing (and winning).
The only problem I see with it is the presentation medium. I can only watch stuff on a computer for a short time. I don't like to sit there in my home office in front of the big screen because it is isolated away from the rest of the house and I don't like to watch it on my laptop because it is only a 15" screen.
Steve. <== a different one.

I've watched it and really liked it. It also looks like it's even more fun to be there playing or watching. If I'm ever in the area I'll definitely make a trip out.

The quality of picture is the best of the free live streams (others are better in terms of matches but don't have the same clarity of picture).

My complaint is I don't care to view players I can watch anywhere. I would like to see "A" class or better. I watched in the beginning but don't watch anymore because all the players I've seen don't play very well.

The only way I would watch "B" and lower is if there was commentary that covered what is the proper strategy for different classes of players. I watch the live streams to play better.

Good post.

Pat's set-up is first class, maybe do a little behind the scenes promo.

I played in the game show once while working in Parsippany, it was a blast!
I think this is one of the most exciting and original ideas out there.

The big dollar beak and run is also aexciting, and the real draw that keeps the players coming...who else pays 10% per ball on a BnR jackpot?!

I agree with earlier posts that Pat's commentary and banter is key, Sigel gets on my nerves after a while even though he has a million stories, but Pat knows how to keep it light and entertaining.

agreed. If I wanted to watch B level players I would go to the room, but sit at my computer, no thanks.

My only suggestion would be to get some sort of an electronic timer to do the countdown instead of Pat doing it verbally.

I enjoyed watching it.

game show

I realy like the clarity of the live stream and I think pat is doing a grate job love to see lower class players such as my self get a chance wish I lived in the area so I could be part of it can,t see any thing I would change at this time keep up the good work

The point of the tournament is to have everyone play and give a chance to everyone at winning. By doing things like removing balls and sharking players allows less experienced players to win or cash. If it were all "A" players, it would be more of a serious one game tournament, than a one game, GAME SHOW.

Pat and Bill are looking to do several things with this, one is to help the sport, and two, help business. They are able to accomplish this by keeping it friendly and allowing everyone a chance to win.

Not sure if they do this already but a half hour to hour before it starts they should post something here with the link. Internet viewers now have a chance to win something.

Both break and runs are each at $500/ball. I'm surprised more rooms are not doing this. The amount of players coming out is phenomenal. Each week is packed with things to do. You have a strong Tuesday night tournament and then the 3 nights after that have the main one game tournaments, mini tournaments, Break and Run jackpots and there is action. People from all over can make a trip for a couple days and easily get there fill of pool here.

This is something I would regularly attend and participate in. The question though is regarding getting people to view it. That is another story. While it might look like fun I have no desire to watch average players have fun on a computer screen, let alone on TV (if it were) and why would I when I can pop in a real Accu-Stats video and watch world class pool being played.

Now, something I would watch would be a weekly show with different guests being interviewed and teaching something new. Then draw someone from the crowd, spin a wheel to decide what they must do on the table and then draw someone from online. If the player runs out or makes what he is supposed to he wins a prize. If not the online watcher gets a dvd. I would watch that.

But, B players in a race to one with 4 balls on the table. No chance.

I think what we have to keep in mind here is that this is a gameshow with a pool theme, not a tournament. Not everyone can sit and watch bangers, but more mainstream and recreational players can and do. They run a clean chatroom that is fun to get involved in. If you haven't tried it yet, give it a shot...you just might like it. Plus giving two Accu-Stats DVD's (of your choice) away to the chatroom three times a week don't hurt either. Johnnyt

Keep It Coming!

Our thanks to everyone who has already replied.

Pat was serious when he said that we are always looking for good constructive criticism and ideas for future shows and refinements to what we already produce.

The idea for the "Viewer Jackpots" for the Accu-Stats produced DVD's was suggested by Johnnyt - refinements and additional ideas have come from sde2 (Steve). Great idea - fun for the viewers!

We agree with the comment about doing more tournament events in addition to the US Open and Derby City. While the costs have become prohibitive for Pat to tear down. pack up, and transport all of his equipment to an "Away Game" - it is truly fabulous to have Bill Haley and Comet Billiards available to us and by extension to all of the viewers either thru Pay-Per-View or Ustream.

What the viewers see at Comet Billiards is the SAME arena and camera setups we use at the major tournaments. Our local cameramen, Sal, Tom and Mark seem to be getting better each week. Soon they'll be a match for our professional road crew.

Our inaugural event was a round-robin Invitational 14.1 event World Class players in a format designed by Pat - 60 point matches - nobody's safe - no dull moments - miss and it was over (Just ask John Schmidt)

Since then we've covered the Joss and Predator Tour Stops at Comet in addition to regional events. Great commentators from John Bender to Tony Robles to "Bigtruck" (Thanks again Ray).

What's Next???

End of July - Cue Sports International's 14.1 National Championship Event at Comet.
End of August - Charlie Williams and the World 14.1 Straight Pool Championships Live at Comet Billiards.

Pay-Per-View or Ustream ??? - Not sure yet but we will let you all know in time.

Once again - thanks to everyone for the great support.

Comments, criticisms, good ideas - KEEP THEM COMING - Post them here - email jim@accu-stats.com if you prefer

Jim
