Dave, I want a Cue from this Wood,DudeTrue Brazilian Rosewood (dalbergia nigra) is one if the most sought after and admired woods in the world. Becoming extremely hard to find and locating pieces that are not cut from stump wood has also become a challenge. Occasionally a rare piece such as this will pop up and I find it very difficult not to mortgage my soul to own it! An absolute pleasure to work with and the treasure left behind after removing all the dust makes it all worth the end result. Enjoy............

I have never really noticed this wood before and in some of these cues, it is quite beautiful.
I decided to google Brazilian Rosewood and came up with this:
From a recent Luthier's Mercantile International catalog:
" In 2007, Brazilian and American law enforcement personnel uncovered a ring of importers who were responsible for bringing over 13 tons of Brazilian Rosewood into the United States. 23 people landed in jail, including one prominent luthier/wood dealer who was supplying a number of well-known American luthiers and manufacturers.
"Though Brazilian Rosewood is often advertised as 'pre-ban', most, if not all of the wood available is illegally harvested and/or imported. The paperwork for this wood is often insufficient, forged or non existant".
So is it illegal to bring into the country and endangered?
