I have a new cue with a pressed Elkmaster tip on it. The tip shoots ok, but I prefer a harder tip. Not sure why, but I prefer a tip which is harder and makes the cue bark a bit more when hit, but I don't want to loose any ability to apply english. I'm thinking about replacing with a Triumph, Wizard M or maybe the new Emerald tips I just bought.

So, should I:
a) leave the pressed Elmaster's on it
b) replace with Triumph
c) replace with Wizard M
d) replace with Emerald

you could try a milk dud tip, they're soaked and pressed elkmasters. hardens them up, but still retains the other qualities of an elk. mueller's sell really good ones as 'dudley' tips.

If you already bought the Emerald then try it. Worst case scenario you're not happy with it and decide to buy a whole box of triangles for the same cost.

Interesting where this poll is at. Well, I'm not happy with the Elkmasters, so the Wizzards are getting the nod. On another cue, I have been very happy with them.

Triangle works fine for me. But in reality, you just have to try them all, until you find the one you like.

I suggest trying out different tips to see what works best for you. It may cost a few bucks, but it completely answer the "what ifs" on your mind

I use Wizard mediums on my Schon R12 and get so much draw it's incredible.
I can't see using any think else. I can let my stroke out without worrying about a miscue.
