Old brunswick bumper feeler

and the whole break cue fiasco . . .
If this was in the works way before fischer's, then the timing of your offering just seems really suspect. I have no horse in the race, but the whole thing sits bad with me.
Mr h

my timing has nothing to do what so ever with anything.
As i said there are many poeple on here that know i have been working on this for many years... Just cause someone else comes out with something does that mean i should just forget the project mine are a differant animial color and height and also hand made not production like his are differance of a production cigar and a cohiba hand rolled

can you do a dark blue? I have a cue I going to have made with white/blue linen and blue veneer trim. So I think a dark blue bumper would be cool. How much for a one-off.

id do for 5.00 just like the others i plan on doing a supply of differant colors i just finished 10 molds with each having 55 cavitys over the last few days monday i should start doing some up
ill do a great selection of colors and have them posted on the web site for ordering also will have the plug bumpers in differant colors soon

Really like the brunswick brown also. I think that a cuemaker wouldnt want to pay that for a bumper, but it's what the customer wants. And for say 8 or 10 bucks extra for something that may add to the color flow or uniqueness to their cue it very little to pay. Cuemakers could add this as an option for customers.
Lee maybe the fair thing to do is offer all different colors except for the tan fischer is selling. I think it would work out better for both parties involved. JMHO though.

i never wanted to copy his and like i said have been in the works for a few years price wise i am trying to be fair these are hand done and take some time to produce

This really isn't anything new. In fact both are spin offs of the old Brunswick. It would not be fair to say one could sell them and not the other. I do like the idea of different colors. This may be hard though to match to a paticular veneer.

Also earlier I noticed a few post about a tip press. If the real inventer of the tip press would step forward please? This way no one else can take credit!

Jim.

Jim,

It's not about either party having the right to market the product.
Of course they do and for that matter, any and everybody who now thinks they might want to jump into the bumper marketing game is free to do so. It's a free country and a free market system. But that's not what this is about.

It's about taking advantage of and capitalizing on the interest created by another AZer's product. It has become an obvious pattern.
It's not a matter of coincidence or bad timing. It's done deliberately. This is how Lee does business and anyone who's been on this forum for any length of time has seen it time and time again. There's no law against what he's doing and neither party will achieve success in securing a patent. Is it right what he's doing? It's legal, but is it right?
This is the crux of the debate.

Neither you nor I have a 'horse in this race', so to speak, unless you want to consider that WE ALL have a horse in this race and that filly's name is 'Integrity'. From where I sit, it's about how we, as a community, do business and how respectful we are of another's efforts.

Lee can argue that he's had his bumpers in the works for years now yet he cranks out 55-cavity molds daily. Why now? Why not a month ago, 6 months ago or even 6 months from now. It's simple. The interest in brown bumpers is peaking as we speak and now's the time to move.
It was the very same thing with the tip-press. The timing was perfect. The talk of 'milk duds' was all over the forum. John had created the interest in the tip-press and Lee took advantage of that interest.
I don't know of any law against that, but is it right?
My position on the issue should be obvious, I don't like it. It's blatant disrespect for a fellow AZer for the sake of a few lousy bucks.

In response to a couple of PMs, I guess I should clarify something.
I do in fact wish Lee success in creating and selling his products; just not those of someone else.

It would have been nice to know the color of Fisher's bumper was tan before this all started. I found out the hard way, and would have went a different route if someone, anyone, would have been honest enough to say they were not Brunswick brown.

Brianna supplys great items

Hi,

I have bought over $ 4,000.00 worth of stuff from Lee in the Last 2 years. He has always delivered what he has promised and he makes a lot of stuff that is of high quality at a reasonable price.

I have heard of these bumpers going for a lot of money. Where is the outrage when someone tries to make money on a old low supply item that they didn't have anything to do with the manufacturing process.

You got to give Lee kudos for his efforts to supply cue makers stuff that they need and want.

No one is forcing anyone to buy anything. It's your choice. I personally like to have a choice!

Lee is not my friend, he is a supplier of mine. In the short time I have known him, I like the way he has treated me as a customer and I respect him for that.

If you notice the negitive posts on here are from a certin few that dont like me and try to take a cheap shot whenever they can, funny thing is you never see these few people out there at any shows with booths spending time and money to bring new and affordable things to the cuemaking world, its real easy to sit back and take cheap shots from behind a computer. I remember a few years ago kj taking a shot at my UV booth saying it was over priced among other things, well since then we have sold 43 booths, the latest to Bob Manzino among many other top cue makers world wide, this makes you see how these few pople are just out to take shots whenever they can. Another item the ring cutter I sold over 40 with one complaint, then we posted a video to show just how easy it really was to use. Lack of knowledge on the part of someone isnt my fault the ring cutter worked great and was priced very reasonable.
just how hard is it to use something like that? some poeple just complain about anything. Since then we have found the dremmel doesnt hold up so well so we are using the kress and our new arbor to cut rings.

another thing
Sounds familiar.... like when you started to sell "tip presses" right after Rocket did....

I made my first tip press over 15 years ago to press lepro's it was 2 plates with 6 cavitys and threaded rod and nuts in each cornor long before any of these poeple mentioned on this forum and before anyone did any milk duds at that point I had heard of one other person that did one for himself after seeing mine at a show

Then the break cue issue ill take full blaim for that.... but I was sincere about a name contest and after all that really never found a name that worked for me so we have about 40 j/b cues in my office that never sold

thanks Lee

Spray Booth

Lee,

I have one of your booths and started out using it for UV. I stopped using UV and went to PPG again. I still love the booth and use the UV for exposing purpleheart after turning.

Rick
