American World Straight Pool Champion 2009?

Yes this is me tucson9ball, I had to re-register as my other name and password stopped working for some reason...

Bob Jewett, by the way that was a great idea to play in the qualifier and I know you thought the hotel was ok. Hope to see you there! Thanks!

Max

Man, you got connections. Took me forever to get this account verified. I wish you all the best in the World Championship. Go get em!!!

oh great. Now I'm a "hater," lol.

In some of these threads, I do wonder how someone with lenses this polarized functions in real life, where not everyone sees things their way? (That's a rhetorical, no need to stress yourself out coming up with a reply.)

Lou Figueroa

If you were not going to help out, then you should have just kept your mouth shut. You and Roy said Max didn't contribute to the forums and that was the basis of your argument. I pointed out that he was a contributor. Does that mean you wanna help now?? Does that make Max worthy in your opinion?? It seems like you have a knack for always being negative Lou. Between this thread and the Galveston thread and the Grady threads I would say you are on a roll with the negativity. That is just my opinion that you are a hater and I damn sure do not need someone like you to help me understand anything. If you have nothing good to add to the discussion than you should just keep your mouth shut and stop hijacking threads with your negativity and doubt!

Thanks Mark!

OK - ya got me.

Max has supported our events so we gotta support him.

CueSports International (CSI), parent entity of BCAPL and USAPL, NCS and other events will throw in $200 toward the Max Eberle effort.

It is great to see all of the support through AZ. I think it is important to have support for the pros.

Go get that trophy (and the cash)!!!

PLEASE - someone give me instructions on where to send the money.

Thank you Mark!
I'm goin for it!
I've enjoyed playing in your events beginning with the Swanee at Gaslamp in San Diego a few years ago and now Hollywood Billiards in LA.
I hope your CSI National Championship series keeps getting better every year!
Thanks again,
Max

Scott: Times are tough but put me in for a hondo and let me know where and when to send it. I watched some tapes of Max from 2006 and saw him trying the Straight Pool Challenge at DCC and he seems like an interesting guy.

Bring it home!

It's so good to see the support you're getting ... great job to all for following through! Go get'm Max! Bring it home!

Thank you Mark!

Nice CYA: You wouldn't like him when he's angry!

But, back to business:
My quick count is that, largely due to the generosity of a couple:thumbup: folks, we are up to $1275. Additionally, I count 4 folks as potentials. Not bad, but not there yet either.

I have rec'd several inquiries about anonymous donations. I can promise I will keep your donation confidential if asked to. PM me if you wish to donate and have not yet expressed an interest in this thread or in a PM to me.

As stated earlier- we gotta move on this. Choppy-choppy.

FYI - so you can keep track of the $$$$

I just spoke with Max, he will email me the address where he is now and I am Express mailing the money directly to him today.

I hope we can make this happen :)

Thank You!

Thank you Dennis!
May more prosperous times find you soon as well!
Sounds like you're going in the right direction though as you broke 50 recently with a 57!
Two of those and you have a 114...keep doubling that and... :) see you in Parsippany next year!

Much appreciated,
Max

Thanks Meezer Girl! I remember you from the Swanee! :)
So nice of you to help me out!
...and also great that you are leading a group of US fans at the Mosconi Cup later this year and then rooting Oscar on in Septemer at Hard Times Bellflower!

Gracias!
Max

I need help in figuring this out- sounds like we have a workable # and split agreement ($2700, 50/50), but what we don't have is time.

With an 8/24 start date and many folks wanting to contribute via paypal, I would think we need to have funds to Max by 8/20. Paypal takes a few days (~5) to clear and I am not in a position to cover the $ until then. ASSuming the $ is to be sent to Max via Paypal, we need to have the amount covered by 8/6 . I can Fed Ex him a check to buy a bit more time, but I'd still need all $ in my paypal by todayish.

With the amount declared to date, I do not feel we are close enough to proceed comfortably and I do not want to have to refund anyone, due to the paypal fees that someones are going to have to eat.

I very much want this to work, but I need help to figure it out. IMO, and unfortunately, it is not looking good.

The best option I see is an individual steps forward to take sole ownership, then perhaps letting the prospective contributors buy a piece from there.

Where does the moolah get paypalled? No info in your pm.

Ya know...

You're a great player and part of me wants to say bestest of luck, I hope you find a sponsor here, and all that.

And part of me -- after looking at all 14 of your posts in over two years as an AZ member and not finding a single post that remotely approaches helping other board members with a tip, a suggestion, a shot explanation, an aiming system(?!), a trip report, or at least an entertaining story from your tournament experiences or matching up -- just wants to say, "eh."

I don't know. Maybe you're a regular on the "Ask the Pro" AZ forum and I just missed it.

Maybe not.

Lou Figueroa
you should never come
to the tribal camp fire
and ask for help
empty handed
IMO

What a moron.

Btw, Ps: Why didn't you go with "the better half"?

Have some discipline, sir.

(Just red Max original post and first couple of answers. I'm sure this issue has been dealt here, so sorry for reminder...)

Good Luck Max!

tap,tap,tap:cool:

haha, lou the mud always settle to the bottom !

lol. "mud always settle to bottom"

Sounds like you 're getting your material from some real stale fortune cookies. But keep it up, it's pretty funny stuff.

Exactly, and so if the number of posts isn't the prerequisite and instead it is ability, what's the problem with Max? Or could it be that you, like me, are simply too cheap and broke to back anybody?

Nothing personal, I liked you in the Hulk.

(geez, what part of "balancing act" don't you get?)

Anywhos, I'm not like you at all -- I am backing a player in this endeavor, in the hope that he qualifies. He's going to Chicago to play in a qualifier and I'm paying for his car, gas, hotel, entry fee, and expenses. I'm even letting him take his wife along and am paying her expenses too.

He even participates here a lot, posting here under the handle of lfigueroa, and though he's a bit rusty at 14.1, he used to be pretty good at it ;-)

Lou Figueroa

It has come to my attention that my copy/ paste skills are lacking.

Please PM me if you need my paypal info or contact Max directly if you do not want to Paypal. His info is in the first post of this thread.
Thanks- sorry too!:sorry:

That's pretty funny stuff: my way or shut up. (Sorry ain't gonna happen)

And, I've heard from enough well respected members here -- that support questioning and discussion on this issue -- that I'm not worried about your opinion being in the majority, in the least (not that that would matter). Sooo, I'd say that if you have a problem with legit questions being posed here, you should try something other than a *discussion* forum. Maybe join a a forum (well, even the word "forum" suggests a public meeting place where people discuss things, but I digress) where no one is allowed to dissent from your point of view? Or, I guess you could just try respecting the fact that intelligent people can have different takes -- all valid -- on the same issue (makes the world go round and all that, but I doubt you can see that :-) Anyways, always remember:

The ignore button is your friend.

Have a nice day.

Lou Figueroa
doesn't remember being involved
in any Grady threads lately...

Lou, I could care less if you agree with me or not and that is not what this is about. I do not need an ignore button to filter all of the bs on these forums. You had the wrong info so I had to correct you. Seems like you always have the wrong info or you just have a special gift of being negative and sour about everything. Where is this legit question that you asked??. Is it invisible?? You basically said that Max should not get help because he does not post on here and help the players. Well, does having your own section on az qualify??? I think so and I could care less what you think about it.

Justin <------ thinks Lou is trying to win the 2009 award for most ignored poster on azbilliards!
