i have not looked it up. or do i care much for moochies , but he says it retailed for 900. nice looking cue with fairly sharp points . so i will let him know how much and he can decide.

your best bet is mike irwin down in missippi he worked at meucci for years he has fixed a few for me over the years plus he is reasonable
 
It appears to be model 97-11. Still listed as available on Budget Billiards web site. MSRP = $525 with one shaft. Their price = $420.

Maybe that will help in making the decision on whether to repair it.
 
Making a whole new forearm, with points.....then refinish, My opinion, buy another cue. Meucci's aren't worth that much time/money IMO, plus it seems that the owner doesn't seem to treat his cues that well in the first place, so why rebirth something for him to destroy again in the future?

The retail for that cue is around $450, and you can buy them all day long for $300 or less on eBay. The damage to that cue is very extensive, and at least in my opinion certainly not cost effective. To repair that kind of damage will cost you almost as much, as new cue on ebay and I doubt even if it was made playable that the damage would be invisible.

short pin

it looks to me like the screw did not go far enough into the forearm. when i use this method to attach the forearm and handle i try to get the screw to extend a bit further out of the tenon.

I don't think the pin matters when you break the cue over your knee. LOL
 
My estimation is that the shaft needs a new butt.

As a compromise, you may want to order in the replacement cue as suggested above and tweak the shaft diameter to match the old cue and adjust the weight bolt to get the weight as close as possible for him. Just charge for your time, plus the cost of the replacement cue. He ends up with two shafts and a new butt as close as possible to what he had.

Or, do like Nancy Regan says, and "Just say no.":grin:
 
Willeecue can fix that cue for you.
I have done a few like that in the past.

It will not be an invisible fix.
There will be crack lines where the wood has broken but it will be a solid playable cue that will last for many years (unless your friends knee gets in the way again).

Cost ... $75 plus shipping charges.

That is an odd looking A-joint even for a Meucci. It looks like the forearm was doweled and plugged for whatever reason. This is not a reverse tenon.

If Willie can fix it for $75, that is your best bet. I could get a new forearm from Meucci but the labor is worth more than the cue.

you are probably right. I found a replacement for 360 . so he is saving his pennies as fast as he can. i think he said he has had this fixed once already by someone else,
i also sent a email to meuc along with pics about a week ago.
guess they have a heavy backlog as no reply as of yet.

thanks anyway for all the info and advise

That could explain the 'A' joint being a little different, and certainly explains the damage in the first place. Someone needs anger managment.....and a new butt:D
