what are the best instructional dvds on one pocket?or please comment on the quality of a one pocket instructional dvd you own or have seen.
For instructional, get the Willie Joplings tapes. 2 of them. He goes over lots of individual moves. If you actually practice his moves, and not just watch the video, you will have a very large arsenal of shots to select from!
I second the motion, for Willie Jopling's One Pocket dvds. They are a wealth of information, from someone who has played one-pocket for more than 50 years, with the best players in the country. He does not have a website, but he advertises in the Billiards Digest every month, and you can order them through his ads.

Anyone ever seen the Cliff Joyner Killer One Pocket set of DVDs? Couldn't find much on them in the past threads. Seem to be fairly short length DVDs. Thanks.
Beards banking books helped my one pocket tremendously. You can go to my site, www.bankingwiththebeard.com and order several different 1 pkt DVDs. I have all 3 of Grady Mathews 1pkt DVDs. Clik link:http://www.bankingwiththebeard.com/grady.html
I have Billy Incardonas Instructional 1pkt DVD which delves into the thinking side of the game. Clik link:

I have one set left of the best bargain of all, Willie Jopling's Ultimate One Pkt DVD. A two volume set that runs 4 hrs. Price is only $49.95. It is filled with probably the most 1 pkt info you can find. If you can tolerate Willie's dry, boring style and manage to stay awake, you will be rewarded with a cornucopia of 1 pkt knowledge. You must contact me directly to get this last one. 312 225 5514 or email bankingwiththebeard@comcast.net

I'm looking to invest in buying some one pocket DVD's also. Any more recommendations?
Thanks.
Funny this should come up, because I have a stack of 1pocket DVDs on my desk at the moment. I'm going to the DCC next week and one of the things I like to do before "jumping into the deep end" is watch a few matches to kind of refresh my thinking. So I have this stack of maybe 20 DVDs, and yesterday I shuffled through them and here's what I put at the top of the stack:
Efren vs Buddy
Efren vs Shannon
Steve Cook vs Mizerak
Joyner vs Gabe
The thing is, the way I unconsciously sorted them was not a question of the quality of the match, per se, but more a matter of seeing different thinking and styles and watching the players I consider to be the best.
Speaking just generally, and having watched most of the Accu-Stats 1pocket library, IMO the most insightful 1pocket commentator is Billy. The best commentary team was Billy and Grady -- you would often get two totally different takes on a particular shot situation and both could articulate a valid justification for what they were thinking. The most entertaining 1pocket commentator is Freddy, particularly the commentary he did on several matches at the Kalamazoo US Open 1pocket tournament one year. Really funny stuff
