In my local league (Houston, TX), we play BCA rules 8 ball. 3 man teams playing each person twice. Which amounts to 6 games played. When you win all of your games they call it a 6 and 0.

I came in half way into the league (a 20 week league) and I already have better statistics than everyone else in the league. For the third week in a row I have gone 6 and 0, and already have two break and runs. I'm playing some fairly decent players, but some of them are crap. Even still, I just wanted to say that I enjoy playing this game and whooping that ass, lol. I have been playing for 6 years and feel like I have learned more in that time than a lot of people do playing their entire lives. I always respect a good pool player for all that they bring to the table (pun intended). I didn't know where else to go to brag about my recent success. I have played on leagues before, but this time I am really starting to take off. I'm not sure where my game is going to take me now.
 
This is the right place to brag. :wink:
Pretty soon they'll all be gunning for you. Just watch what happens when you get a rep. EVERYONE wants to knock you off! Funny thing is, that puts even more pressure on them. You're gonna see a lot of guys get weak against you. That's my prediction. Happy hunting!

I had the highest win percentage in my summer 8-ball and 9-ball leagues and won the M.V.P award in both leagues last week.

The guys in those leagues miss balls against me that they otherwise make 99.9% of the time.

What pool hall do you play out of? I dont play in leagues, but I would love to play you some. I play out of Fast Eddies on Fuqua.

Congrats LP. :thumbup: But... It is a cruel cruel game at times so remember this feeling and draw on it at a later moment when you come home with your ass in your hat. We all do unfortunately. :grin-square:

Ok, if Jay says this is a good place to brag, I can too.

I snapped off a little tourney last night, getting the case game in the finals against a playa via this sweet shot. :)

I agree with paksat. It wins you nothing. It doesn't do you any good. It gains you nada. There are no benefits to you. How many more ways can it be said? Let your game do the talking.Also , it's insulting and ignorant to say that in 6 years you have learned what others have learned in a lifetime.

Charlie, this is Perry. I used to shoot with you back in the day...About 4-5 years ago. I moved to Iowa for a few years, but am back. We should get together and shoot a little.

To the gentleman that feel I am being insulting in my post....

I never meant to step on any toes by saying I was 'bragging'. I am 99% of the time very humble and modest about my pool game. I love teaching people things that I have learned. If I see a shot that they could have improved on (after I play them), I will set the balls back up and give them the correct knowledge on how to execute it properly. I know there are thousands of better pool players out there and I'm not saying I am GREAT. I just wanted to let people know of my pride in my own accomplishment. I !LOVE! playing pool players that are better than me. It gives me a chance to learn.

Well, if you look on the BCA PL website, you'll see that Texas has a lot of Masters/GrandMaster players. So, you'll have plenty of quality competition. Keep in mind, a lot of BCA players don't care much for regular league play. You'll notice their games step up towards the playoffs. The Texas State tourney will have a lot of talent.
 
We never got any money games going, but it was all in good fun. I used to shoot with Cory Lyons and Yoko. I'm out there (Fast Eddies) on Tuesday's. I don't do a whole lot of gambling these days..rarely...if ever anymore.


I don't doubt there are a lot of great players in this area. I know, I have seen a lot of them shoot. The irony of it all, is that I don't usually concentrate in league like I do when I am playing tournaments. I just lose interest because there isn't much on the line if I win or lose, just dignity. I greatly enjoy playing this game and the friendly competition that comes with it.

First of all, the poster who said the best place to brag is nowhere... I wholeheartedly agree.

Second, in BCAPL, you either get to break 2 or three times each night. This means in three weeks, you prolly have gotten to break about 8 times. Two break and runs out of 8 is good, but not worldbeater.

Third, the reason your stats are higher than nearly everyone in the league is probably because you have only played 3 weeks. You most likely have not played the #1, #2, and #3 teams in your division yet. When you do, please report if your stats go down at all.

I consider myself to be playing like utter dogshiite right now, and even as a C player, I've gotten a break and run every night the last 4 times I played. It doesn't really mean anything. Now..putting up a break and run, and running out in your first inning 2 out of the other 4 games......That's the kind of play that gains a little respect. :-)

Either way, I am not trying to diss you. Just trying to say that there are players out there who are run out machines, that you probably have never seen play a league game.

You just might see your game take a huge leap when you start respecting ALL your opponents. I don't think i've used the word "crap" to describe an opponent (or potential opponent) in at least 13-14 years. The minute you start thinking little of an opponent's skill, that's the minute you give them one extra shot, which comes back to haunt you.

Thanks for your advice Russ. All good points indeed. Some minor discrepancies though. I have played for 10 out of the 20 weeks. The week before last I broke and ran once and rack and ran 3 times. I gave all three of those guys goose eggs. This is just to prove that it isn't a one or two time fluke. I have played two weeks when we were playing against one of the top three teams. One of those I got a 6-0 and the other was 5-1. I am not trying to discredit your opinion, but I have played the best players "in this league" and beaten them as well. I'm not claiming to be some kind of Pool God or anything. I just came in here, maybe not so much as to brag, but maybe just to get a pat on the back for my recent success. Not that I need it, but I just felt like talking on here about it and didn't know how to present it accordingly.

The weakest part of my game right now is my break. I just picked up a Predator BK2, so this may end up helping a little. I know there are things I can work on and I practice every day. But I am just enjoying that my game has gone to the next level.
