There must be dozens of games one can play on the pocket pool table. The standard seems to be nine ball, texas express, three fouls. The game seems to favor the more skilled player of the safety and the break.
Being the visionary I am, (IMOM), I thought why don't they play a game with all fifteen balls. The money ball being the black 8. Rack like rotation eight in the middle. After the break the player must either shoot the one ball or the fifteen ball, his choice. If he shoots the fifteen ball his next shoot options are the one ball or the fourteen. If he misses then it is the opponents same option. You play just like nine ball, make the black 8 aspa. You can play safeties if you like and probable will since there a lot of traffic on the table.
It may be more difficult since your opponent has two object balls to shoot at instead of one. The game is won once someone pockets the black eight legally, the last ball pocketed or a legal combination made prior to all the balls being pocketed.
I have not road tested this game yet and was wondering if any of yall have every played something like this. What do you think of the format?
It seems to be an interesting format with dual object balls and dual shapes.
Let me know what ya think.
