Plan is to have it for sale next Thursday. Thanks for the support. It should be a good one. Both guys are hungry to win. When can we buy the Morra PPV ? Should be a great match, unlike the one last night.

I am beginning to think you have some sort of personal stake in this whole thing somewhere. You wouldn't post here under another username would you ?
You know, this is one thing we agree on!
What other username are you asking me if I post under? You can be assured that I do not post under another name. AZ Billiards allows us to post our opinions, and what I have been posting is my opinions. Just because they differ from yours doesn't mean that I am devious in my posting by using more than one username. And I think that you have a personal stake in this whole thing for sure!
My personal stake in this is that I would like to see the pool industry more available to the general public -- I love watching the matches that are shown on streaming and on TV. I am a 63-year-old grandmother and I don't play pool myself, but I have recently retired and plan to learn! I love to watch it, though, because it is such a fantastic art form and it's unbelievable the shots that some players can make -- like "magic" (I see why Efren is called "The Magician"). And I am a fan of many of the players! So I plan to be in that market of sponsors who support those who decide to stream and broadcast professional, tasteful pool matches.

Damn, I hope you never let your kids out of the house, in a pool hall, watch TV or do anything in life!!!! Sounds like they would be in complete shock in the real world.
As I was reading through the comments, about the commentary, I was proud that someone noticed the no cussing in my show. I also was feeling really guilty, because while reviewing the Texas Open show, I caught myself dropping the "F" bomb!! We had started the recording a little early and I had gotten frustrated over the spelling of someone's name. I did delete it from the recording.
I have an "Announcer Guidelines" sheet that anyone sitting in the booth must review. We are ALL human though.
Being around cussing a lot can rub off on you, that's why WE don't allow it in our house. My thoughts are that since my stream will be watched by many in their homes, I don't want to send anything out that folks can't watch with their kids or preacher.
I am soooo glad we have a forgiving Lord! We can all learn a lot from him.

If you do not censor your commentators, then that is your right. Let them swear as much as they want. But others do censor that and will have a chance at a much wider audience, in my opinion. I believe sponsors will ultimately gravitate toward those who provide pool streaming that will satisfy the public's taste for professionalism and decency. If cussing and swearing makes it fun, why don't ESPN, IPT, BigTruck, etc., jump on the TAR bandwagon? As far as I can see, the more professional a commentator is, the less swear words he uses. I watch horse racing all the time, and I have never heard them have to entertain the public and make it fun by using cuss words. Just my opinion.
Enough said.
The same person defending Scott and Gabe is worried about professionalism and decency? Would you call the actions in their match, that they were PAID to play, professional and/or decent?
The fact is that they lacked in professionalism, and their lack of decency led them to STEAL the promoters money. That's right, they stole the money. They had a job to do, and that was to entertain an audience. The failed to do that job, but still got the money.
It may be a extreme to call this stealing, but in general it is the same as stealing. To call TAR unprofessional or indecent is far more heinous than saying that Gabe and Scott were stealing.
I understand that a large percentage of the population has a problem with what they consider foul language, I understand that it can be distasteful and inappropriate in many situations, and I understand that when given a choice these people will choose the version that they understand to be the "cleaner" of the choices. However, what I don't understand is what channels people like this watch on television. Are they really restricted to PBS, CNN, etc.? Because all of the channels that I see contain the same language that you are complaining about. Words that I would expect to be warned about or even banned on this forum are perfectly acceptable on almost all of the channels on your tv.
TAR does a fantastic job of streaming some great matches. They do not have 100% control over the commentators, and most of the time that leads to some great commentary. Occasionally there may be someone in the booth that has a foul mouth (apparently according to you), but realize that these times are the exception, NOT THE RULE.
I hope you can understand that as much as I hope that the promoters in Galveston realize that Scott and Gabe are the exception. I hate to see two players shoot themselves in the foot and end up injuring all of the other players, but that is how it usually works. One bad apple...
That's right, they stole the money. They had a job to do, and that was to entertain an audience. The failed to do that job, but still got the money.
Since Gabe and Scott's "behavior" is uncharacteristic of them -- in other words, in the past they have always acted with professionalism and decency, I and others are giving them the benefit of the doubt, although others might not.
I completely disagree.... It was entertaining for me... I Laughed Out Loud several times during the match...

My thoughts exactly! Those who will be watching in their homes with their kids and maybe even with their preachers will make up a sector of the audience that the pool industry will want to have in their market!
I seriously doubt if anyone told Scott or Gabe anything about how to play in their match. In the interview after the match, Scott explained how tired both of them were and that Gabe told him that he planned on a very 'offensive' game. (He certainly succeeded, as many found their match 'offensive'). While, as a fan, I was disappointed with this match, I will give them a pass and write it off to a mistake on their part. Hopefully they will get some feedback about the viewers' dissappointment and not do this again, if they get another chance.
I think the 'problems' are getting much more attention than the good things though. The Daulton/Reyes match was top rate. The game Daulton played in the first game of that match was awesome. He got out of every trap Efren put him in. Yu Ram Cha was very impressive on that difficult table in her match with Allison. And Shane shocked everyone winning the first ten games in his match with Orcullo. I just wish they were streaming more of the tournament matches, hopefully we will get more matches streamed next year(if they is a next year).
LOL, Actually i've got an MBA that focused primarily on marketing and strategy, so thanks for making that very telling assumption. If you were to take a marketing course you'd learn that you can't please everyone and must choose a target market to focus your energy on. And my comment that you quoted was not just about you playing pool but being 63 and never having played pool. After looking at all of your posts on this forum I've come to realize that you would probably be one of the members of the market who would get optimal pleasure out of watching streams muted. After seeing that the only other pool related thread that you've posted in was about Efren and Gabe playing and now this thread defending Gabe, I think we all have a good idea of who you are or atleast where you stand.Yes, I see that you believe that if I don't play pool myself, TAR would not be interested in me being your customer.
Is that the thinking of the horse industry? -- if you don't own or train or ride a horse yourself, then they are not interested in you as market potential? I think not!
Is that the thinking of the football industry? If you don't play football or are a coach, they are not interested in you as market potential? I think not!
Just look where the horseracing industry would be if they used that criteria for gaining market share. I have been a horseracing enthusiast all my life, have watched racing on TV and have gone to the track to watch it and paid to get in, but I have never trained or raced a horse in my life! But I think the horseracing industry likes having me as a customer.
You might want to take a course in marketing -- you might be missing out on a whole avenue of market share!
