mosconi 2009

ok guys let's face it EARL STRICKLAND must play in every mosconi cup until he decides to retire! because the guy is a legend! the mosconi cup simply would not be the same without him!
the world of pool needs earl.
earl is getting back to his old self slowly but surely he has been playing well of late, no disrespect to any of the other team members but none of the american players are exactly setting the world on fire at the moment...
for entertainment and arses on seats, earl has got to be there!

Isn't that like saying Michael Jordan should still be a member of the Dream team because MJ is a legend?

Sometimes it might be better to bow out gracefully, rather than become a mockery.

I really like Earl. And he is still a tremendous player. BUT, in the setting of the Mosconi Cup, he does not match up well to the team.

mosconi

well you cant compare the 2 mj is too old for a start, up until last year earl had won the most matches for the usa team in the mosconi cup.
and as for saying he does not fit in well with the rest of the guys, the other guys aren't doing much better these days, the europeans have been producing the best players and performances in pool for the last 5 years or so......
so earl deserves to be there like the rest of the team.

Team Europe is now complete:

Non playing Captain: Alex Lely
1. Player: Ralf Souquet
2. Player: Niels Feijen
3. Player: Darren Appleton
4. Player: Mika Immonen
5. Player: Thorsten Hohmann

Quiet a strong setup I believe...

as I predicted!

Looks very good...

Roy
- can't believe he didn't get the 5th spot this year either...
(I am pretty sure Team Europe would have won even with me on the team) :D

just to throw it out there

How come no one mentions Shawn Putnams name for the mosconi cup. He is in the top of the rankings and has play for the US befor when they actually won the event?

just curiouse

i do like
shane
archer
moore
schmidt
duel

but gonig off consistency and ranking Putnam should be considered. also hillbilly and hatch
Thank you, I'm glad to hear Shawn has more than one person in his corner. I didn't want to be the only one throwing his name out there especially since I have more of a personal view of his worthiness. He was on the last US Team to win! I guarantee if he was on the team he would put in his very best effort. I'll be putting on a personal campaign of my own within my circle of family and friends to try to win him the popular vote, but I understand it's an uphill battle that I probably won't win.
