check out my new PLAYING cue

John,

The problem was that he was sitting at my table when you guys were discussing how to slow down production. I think he needs to be pulled aside.
I might be able to finish one if I ever master the .140. Maybe by July 2010.
What were the colors? Black , Blue, Mahogany, and Green? Paul's combo is easier to remember.

Maybe one day I could be the apprentice to the Apprentice of Dennis Searing. I can make coffee and use a chain saw at the same time. I know the differance between Pear Wood and Sycamore. I am willing to wait for the wood to talk to me. I am willing to fish and play golf as long as it takes to be the best. I think I am on my way.

Come on who made this? I know you said it's not a searing but it looks like someone else made it in Searing's shop.

I would have to agree with that. I think we're on the right track now.

I think I got it "
BUT,
Since I dont know the maker personally , I will just wait and see"
"I really did think Dennis or John...
Dennis because of the 1/2 joint,
John because of the short ferrules, one having a red pad and one with a black pad, usually how John delivers His cues, Unless otherwise requested...
and for a little bit I considered Barry because of the beautiful work, and John mentioned cortland linen wrap too

Scott somebody, can't spell the last name made this right. I mean it looks just like a searing and I seem to recall seeing this in searings shop hanging up earlier this year. I think he name on here is Hirun or something. But that's my guess. Nice cue I'd love to have one for some reason out of all the cuemakers out there only a couple seem to really "get" how to make a true bumperless hoppe with the correct dimensions.

Scott H (HiRun) told me he began working on a cue for John many months ago, after he finished his dice cue. I think most if not all of the work is done/supervised at Searing's shop. The veneers look like the channel method that Dennis has used more recently. I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that this was the cue.

The dimensions I prefer for Hoppe style bumperless or not are .225 ivory, .325 black phenolic and 3.95" buttseeve. I also prefer to a .015 or .030 black washer between the ivory and the buttsleeve for crisp definition on lighter woods.

Martin

Haverland has too much time on his hands when he should be working. We have to put a stop to this nonsense. If he has the secret to this point construction.....I say we tie him down and beat him till he cracks.

Yes Jhun you are right, when I check again and see how fast after the Joint the forearm is going conish, yes a Mobley.
Can't wait to get mine:p:p:p:grin:
Ralf

Actually, I don't think you or Jhun are right here. I'm guessing its NOT a Mobley. I'm guessing its someone you might never guess in a million years.

Hello Si,

From what I understand Key Lime pie would be much more useful in trying to extract this information.....but, this is just a rumor.
