Thanks everyone for the input. After emailing Tony, the cue is an early RS-1 with inlays added by some other cue maker. The RS-1 came with one shaft, so one is original and the other is not. I'm not sure what a cue like this is worth, but any reasonable offer will be accepted. I apologize for the initial listing under the assumption that it was an all original Black Boar.

Wow, interesting BB. First time I've ever seen Tony's inlays that weren't just as sharp as needle points. These are Tony's inlays, aren't they?
When was this cue made? Thanks...

Odd isn't it, reminds me of another bb cue that is floating around. Either a really really early cue, or somone elses work I'd say. Early would be good though

Selling for a friend here in the Pittsburgh area. If anyone has been to breakers you might know him, his name is Augie. He told me he purchased the cue at Valley Forge 2 years ago. Other than that I don't know much about it. I would also like to add I would be happy to use whatever escrow service anyone likes, as I have never sold a cue on here, only ebay.

I would be interested in the history of this cue. The inlays and pattern look very much like Bludworth to me. Have you sent any pictures of the cue to Tony?

My thoughts to i relay don't think tony did those inlays in the cue but thats just my opinion

AN E-MAIL SHOULD BE SENT TO TONY BEFORE ANY SPECULATION IS MADE ABOUT THE INLAYS IN THIS CUE.

I would really like to hear from Tony concerning this cue.

Along with the unique inlay design, the shaft ferrule lengths looks different, shaft grain is different, and the wrap does not look like TS quality (thier are spaces in the wrap near the forearm). The color combination does not match the era of BB logo, I have never seen a perfect circle in the points that large and I find it difficult to beleive Tony would put non pointed inlay in his knife-bladed points.

I hope it is real....... but my "spidey sense" is tingling like a vibrator hooked up to a diehard battery.

I'll wait for more info.

If you look at the shaft on the left, it has a flat bottom brass insert. the shaft on the right has a rounded bottom insert closer to Tony's shafts but no wood around it for a compression type fit which should tighten up on the last 1/4 turn when screwed together.

I have to agree with the others about the inlays, they are very rounded and not sharp at all. The Butt looks cheap too.

Not like the one in your Avatar

NICE BRO :wink::smile::grin:

i haven't seen a blackboar cue in person. but a glance at the inlays (of the cue above), having seen several early blackboars in pictures, i'm not so sure. personal opinion only. :) only the cuemaker can really tell perhaps.

I have owned 3 Black Boars with the old logo and currently have one 4 pointer and one 6 pointer. The butt looks like it is original and the 4 sharp ebony points look original. If I had to guess, the rounded ivory inlays were added by someone else. The wrap looks newer too which would indicate a refinish which would have had to be done when the inlays were added. JMHO.

Maybe just my imagination but it does not look like to buttcap fits flush. Maybe the buttcap is BB and everything else is Phillippi.

The word from Tony is that it is an early RS-1 that another cuemaker has put some inlays into.
That being said I have no idea how to value this cue, any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks to everyone who responded for helping me learn more about this cue.

I have a Black Boar RS-1, it looks like this one except mine has no inlays what so ever. I think the ends of the shafts (thread end) looks a little different, the one in the picture has more wood showing. The wrap looks a little thicker. I am no cue expert, just stating what I see compared to mine. If it hits like mine, would be a great player.

Sorry, The last reply was added while I was posting. Guess I was right on the model.
