So I get a text message from Shane (cuephoric) at 12:30am this morning saying "I'm on my way"... To which I respond "WTF??? Dude you're kidding me right? At 12:30am you're going to start driving 1.5 hours to start redoing my table?" After another WTF or two I relented and said "ok, but I still think you're CRAZY :D" So I tell him the garage is open and the dogs are out back, knock yourself out! Mind you, this is after already moving a table earlier in the day for someone else that took him till nearly midnight.

THIS GUY IS A FREAKING MACHINE!!!!

When I got off work at 5:00 I came home to a perfectly recovered 9fter and let me tell you something.... If you ever have the chance for him to recover, move, repair, or maintain your table, commercial or private DO IT!

To top it all off, he had ANOTHER table to do AFTER he left my house.

THIS GUY IS A FREAKING MACHINE!!!!

Here are some pics of my old (new) Anniversary complete with 860 and new rubber all around. Needless to say, I'm thrilled with the work and can't recommend him enough! (even if he doesn't sleep ) :D

Ignore my messy garage please! Still cleaning out the space and gotta get my light hung BUT.... I CAN NOW HIT BALLS WHOOHOO!!!

John,
Shane is an awesome guy! Likes to talk like all of us and loves pool like nobody else. I am thrilled that he is doing fine on your neck of the woods. I hope to see you again next year in Vegas John.

Shane

Shane may a great table mechanic and a total machine, but he has no chance of getting his old Steve Klein cue back...

Really, the table looks incredible.

Good job Shane

Shane is an animal.....every time I talk to him:

"So where are you today Shane?"

Oklahoma

"I thought you were in Houston yesterday???"

I was, I'm working on a table up here....I slept 4 hours in the last 3 days

"You need to get some sleep amigo, take care of yourself"

I will, maybe next week

VERY cool. I like these happy stories: guy gets his pooltable working, gives huge props to the guy who goes above and beyond what's expected to do a great job...

I expect the reason Shane hasn't responded yet is either: he is still working like crazy and making someone else happy OR he's finally getting some rest!

I was leaning more towards hibernation... I don't know how he keeps going like that. As perm eluded to, everytime I talk to him he's in a different state. Which of course is good for everyone else since they have a much better chance of having a great table mechanic available to them. There are a couple of local guys that do tables and they do a pretty decent job. But I actaully had to keep this on the DL locally since they'll be mad I didn't use them. Oh well... They'll REALLY be pissed when they find out Shane's going to do all the tables at the local pool hall(s)

Actually...these monsoons finally made me pull off the road and catch up on some light reading while I'm waiting out the river....lol
Can't wait to see how full the Missisippi is in Baton Rouge tomorrow!
I don't know which I'm more jealous of right now.....John's table or his cue collection! (That Olney matches his Southwest unbelievably!)

Thanks John, I'll come back up when I get back into town from New Orleans.... I hear some one pocket calling our name:wink:

Sleep??? - that's definitely not a word in his vocabulary!! - he really loves what he does and takes great pride in it -

Yup - you got a table done by someone who I would call a true "Master Mechanic Stretcher of Simonis Cloth" -

Jackson:smilewinkgrin:

(CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT HE CAN DO ACTUALLY GETTING SOME SLEEP!!!)

Those are the best tables in my opinion. I have one just like it. In case you didn't know that table is from 1955 to 1959. They were using the formica rails and that particular logo at that time.
