My new pool movie is climbing the charts on Youtube.

WOW....
who is this guy? I've never heard about him or seen him before.
Does he have a web site?

www.venomtrickshots.com

Click on "venom on youtube" and you can watch all his videos. be sure to check out #48 and #50. The site is super basic, but he'll be adding a blog and all sorts of other stuff soon (I just made it for him this week).

You've likely never heard of him because he's only been around for a year or two (he just learned how to play pool 3 years ago). The kid is a phenom and will one day rule the world. :p

I just wanted to thank everyone for the incredible feedback. It's especially nice to hear that I've achieved my goal of impressing even the players who hate trickshots (as I myself once did),

Thanks again.

wow...very impressive!

the video editing and camera work is very well done.

Awsome tricks

Here it is, the trailer for my new pool movie:

PS. I posted this yesterday, but the thread went unnoticed since the finals of the US Open was going on. I figured I'd try again. :)

Great video thanks for sharing. Nice to see some different shots.

Couple questions if you don't mind.

- Who's the best all around Trick shot artist
- What aiming system do you use?
- Do you use a low deflection shaft?
- what chalk works best?
- Have you been to pool school?
- What type tip is best?
- Do you use a tip tool?
- Is spin transfered to object balls?
- What's the best way to clean a shaft?
- Is a Diamond better than a Brunswick?

best regards...........Paul

Well, I hate trick shots! You see them on TV setting up shots and then yelling and waving cue after it goes. A monkey could do it if they knew how to setup the shots...

This, I wouldn't call trick shot at all!!! I don't see any trick here just a shit load of skill and talent. Call this - Skill Shot, Zen Shot, Master shot or something other than trick shots.

Thanks Jason. Much appreciated.

PS. Great job at the US Open. I was pulling for you, but man, that was some stiff competition.

Paul, I'm not Venom. I'm just the guy who filmed and edited the video.

I can answer a few of these questions for you though, as Florian (Venom) is a friend of mine.

Venom has about 10 cues. Masse cues, jump cues, playing cues, and jump masse cues. Each cue has a different purpose, and different characteristics. For instance, the masse cues are super heavy (30oz) and have a short kevlar and carbon fiber shaft. They have MASSIVE deflection. Venoms playing cue however is almost the same as the one Mika uses. Its a sort of hybrid shaft, somewhere between a LD shaft and a traditional shaft. It's made by Mezz cues.

The same applies with the tips. Some of his cues have hard tips, others have soft tips. It depends on the type of shot hes doing.

As for pool school, Florian (Venom) is currently training with the 1996 World Champion 3 cushion player in France. He has an event against Sayginer next month that he needs to prepare for. He has zero training previous to this though, as he just learned how to play in his attic over the past 2 years. lol

I wont answer the rest of the questions, as I can't speak on behalf of Venom for them. I just answered these few as I knew what he'd say. :)

PS. Thanks for the positive feedback. :)

Much like three dimensional chess in Star Trek, this is three dimensional artistic pool with great hang time. I'm not a trick shot guy, this is an aquired skill that is crazy good, oh, and a great presention also. I will buy...

You're Welcome. Then kudos to you for the fine camera/editting work. Hopefully some of the other questions can be answered by others here. BTW, I live in Rochester, about 5 hours from Ottawa. Took some graet vacations in Ottawa, Buskers festival in early August is a great time. Did you ever see the L-shaped table at the "Honest Lawyer", think that's the name. It's a sport bar on the outskirts of the market area. What great restaurants you have.

best regards.........Paul

I have actually. That table is super fun, although it's far too easy to play safe on. The worlds easiest corner-hook. :p

As for Rochester, I know where that is. I have a few friends who live close to there. I'm actually moving to Toronto in a week though, so I must bid farewell to Ottawa. Be sure to PM me sometime if you're ever in the city. We'll hit a few balls over a beer or two.

I am not a "trick shot guy" but that was pretty cool. I may actually purchase a trick shot video as much as I hate to admit it.

Good work man.

I thought the same exact thing after seeing this. Really amazing. I will be preordering soon. Cant wait!

I'm glad someone bumped this thread-- reminded me to give my props.

That is without a doubt the most impressive trick shot exhibition I've ever seen. I don't even LIKE trick shots... but these are really, really good.

The production is second to none - very hot looking -- top notch, imo. This might be my first trick shot video ever.

Dave

I gotta say I was really impressed with the video production. Timing the video and music score was awesome! The shots were pretty hot too! Well all I gotta say is that if you got some stellar marketing behind this already spectacular product, Venom Trick Shots should take off like a rocket ship! Make sure you advertise to all the leagues, they'll eat this video up!

Thanks Dave (and everyone else as well). I really appreciate the feedback. The whole aim of this project was to try to show shots that requires skill, rather than knowledge of setup. Most proficient pool players hate trickshots, so I wanted to see if I could change this. I actually have a small part in the movie where I talk about this, and how I feel that someone like Florian (Venom) can change how we see the artistic side of things. It's why I chose to hire him, rather than an established trickshot Champion. I feel someone like Florian has a better chance of making it happen by working from the ground up.
