Old cues

I'm sure most everyone has dreamed of running across their own little treasure at some time or another. Just like Shawn did with the Porper model B. Every so often I put a wanted ad in to a local Used/Wanted site for antique or old pool cues. I usually put it under the hobbies/billiards heading.
2 days ago I put another wanted ad in, only under the antiques section.
I was asking for old cues that might have come out of a small town hall or
one of the halls that used to line the streets of my city.

Last night I got an email that was pretty brief: I have a lot of old cues in my basement, what are they worth to you?

OK, I'm not going to hold my breath on this one but it did get my old heart pounding just a little. They might be just some old cues that were left over from a family table thats sitting in the basement and not much of anything, but then again.
I haven't heard anything back yet but I have my fingers crossed.

I would think the anticipation must be killing you. I know it would me. Hopefully this will turn out to be the little treasure you are looking for. Good luck!!

I know how you feel. I had a friend tell me his son had found 9 old house sticks, four with veners. 8 were cheap china made 2 piece sticks. 1 was a rotten house cue. Filled up my dumpster after he left. Hope you have better luck!

Very clever Terry ! There must be a bunch of old cues around here, 15 or 20 years back there was a pool hall in every town in Saskatchewan, but not anymore. I've seen many snooker tables retrieved from these old facilities. I hope there are some re-useable cues for a reasonable price .... good luck. Just out of curiosity, how many old cues do you have in your basement now ?

I have about 30 house cues that were donated to the cause that are in need of attention, but as of yet, this is the first time I've had a response back from an ad. Someone has to have a few of these small town pool hall cues laying around. Ya know, they did make great pot passers on the fancy eatin table, as another poster pointed out.
