USPS vs UPS vs FedEx

Has anyone had any luck with USPS tracking information? I haven't been able to find out a thing about an item that's been shipped to me using the USPS tracking number. To me it's a joke and a useless number and doesn't compare to Fedex and UPS tracking information.

James Was the package shipped Priority or Express mail? A delivery confirmation number is not the same as a tracking number. Tracking is only offered through Express Mail delivery.

Read my previous post and shooting artist's James.....most tracking info is just where your package is suppose to be when you use fedex or ups..the post office tells you the truth...they don't know where the phuck your package is:smile::smile::smile:. There is no tracking usps unless it is express, most people think delivery conformation or a insuranse number will bring up info but it wont because tracking a package truthfully is almost impossible. The most important thing out of all of these issues is DID THE PACKAGE ARRIVE SAFELY AND ON TIME. That should be the most important fact other than cost. What ever price you pay or info you feel you need it all boils down to did the package arrive safely and on time(give or take a few weeks):smile::smile: Here's another one for you...I bought a predator shaft about a year or so ago from the azer in canada(cuemaster 98?) and he sent it from canada expidited and it took 35 days from canada and thats the kinda service you get up there so its all a crap shoot. Fedex and UPS are PACKAGE delivery company's who's main business is packages and they'd better be good because if they had to handle all the letters, catologs, magazines, newspapers, money orders, passports, tiny packages, packages and all the other crap usps handles they's be in trouble. The post office is set up to service the whole country not just business's and if they had to deal with 300 million people 6 days a week and make them happy they would be pulling there hair out also. Fedex and ups do a fine job and they are both Partners with the usps in the package business and both these private company's every day pay the postal service to deliver there packages that would normally be unprofitable for them to deliver to rural parts of this country.

The item that's on the way is a delivery confirmation tracking number (I just checked) adn I agree that a delivery confirmation number isn't really a tracking number it just states when an item has been delivered.

I have a buddy that sells high end cues and other expensive stuff
and he always stresses the use of The Post Office. Ups and Fedex will
some times leave a package even though it say Signature Required.
The Post Office will not.

Yep it is proof it was delivered. It may have been delivered to anyone. But it's proof the postal person delivered somewhere.

Personally, I prefer USPS. While customer service may be abrupt (or not), If I'm not home when they try to deliver my package at 3pm on a Tuesday, I can just walk down to my post office and pick it up whenever I want after that, as opposed to UPS, who will try to deliver to my home during working hours three times in a row before shipping back to the sender. And, I'm just partial to the ol' USPS. The whole hail, sleet, snow thing...

It is also proof it was sent.
USPS gets my stuff from Cal to the east coast in 2 days and the DC# tracking works good enough for me.

If it is a real expensive item I would add signature confirmation.

I've always had my cues shipped USPS Priority over here to Thailand and I've never had a problem.

While tracking isn't necessarily offered, if the package is actually scanned (not all of them are) you can get tracking as detailed as any other carrier- it's hit-and-miss, though- I've had as many as six different tracking notes and as few as one (basically just the scan when it was dropped off at the post office).

I do agree it is proof a package was mailed.:smile:

u.s.p.s.

The post office is really on point now, their service has been a lot better with being on time and not losing any packages (at least for me).
