Shane vs. Donnie question

Lol! Did you see why I wrote this? All different people on this site are saying that I can't play unless it is rack ur own soft break and it makes me cringe!

I don't care what you want to see.

Ok, well then do what Shane did, step up and prove it. You got 3rd in the US Open so you should be ready to play Shane some nine ball with a neutral racker or some 10 ball.

Shane stepped up and played Corey, Alex, Scott Frost, Efren, and the list goes on.

The reason people think you can't play anything but your game is that they haven't seen you try.

I think anyone who plays you in the RYO format at your place on your table is up against the nuts.

I'd like to see you spread your wings and try Shane at another game that you don't have down cold. Play him an all around and show us what you can do.

Just for the record, I wanna see you ( donny ) play shane in 10 ball.. for the game! Not for bragging rights or anything else.. it's just damn good for pool in general.

Donny (also sorry for spelling your name wrong in the original post) in no way was i trying to take anything away from your game or trying to offend you in any way. i was just stating my opinion based on the stats. i know your a great player and i respect your game i also dont have anything against the soft break, ive spent hours practicing it myself, i also know your a great player when your not soft breaking or when your playing 10 ball, ive seen you on the live stream from the seminole tour..... but when it comes down to playing shane for the cash its just plain hard to win.

I could not have worded it better. I have alot of respect for Donny because he steps up to the plate against top competition, but you CAN'T expect people to give you the respect you're looking for when you always add in the gaffes and stipulations.

If you played someone with a big name even, neutral racker, I guarantee that everyone here (myself included) would give you nothing but props...

Clearly reading comprehention is not your strength....

My post was conveying the following message:

-I know you can play excellent pool. The propoolvideos were not 9 ball RYO, and I was impressed, the US Open was not RYO, and I was impressed. Obviously you can play with or without rack your own.

-I know that your posts on AZ Forums have completely ruined any chance of me liking or supporting your pool playing career.

In conclusion, your pool playing was enjoyable to me, but my desire to see you win was ruined by your forum posts.

Feel free to ask questions for further clarification.

Lol no I got what you said. You basically said that you like the way I play but you don't like what I post on here. Well if someone on here says that I don't play as good as I do then I am gonna post what I feel is right. I don't care if you have a desire for me to win or lose.

Soft break, hard break. break from the rail, break from the box, what does it matter, it's nine ball, if someone does not like it they can play something else. If SVB had been breaking like DM, do you think he would have changed (not). Think if you had DM break, how much better would you be. Would you use it, you bet your a**. Can you imagine how much time and effort went into mastering that break that well? All of these guys are wired different, it bothers some of them more to lose than others. Before you condemn them, think how you would feel in their shoes.

To me there no question that things could have went either way. Donny you made some errors that you may not make if you play that game again. The only thing I would have like to have seen from you is a little more credit given to Shane for Stepping up where no one else has. You come off a little brash like he was lucky to hang with you. He took your game, your table, your venue. Just say, Shane was the better man today, but lets play again and see what happens. No doubt you feel you can win this game and I bet Not many others will ever try you. I just feel that being gracious in losing will get you farther than getting defensive in these situations. It looks like Shanes camp has said he willing to give you another chance and I bet it will be as exciting as this one was. Good luck my friend and you are truly a master of the rack your own game. I was very impressed with the breaking mastery you showed.

wow you guys on the internet have no clue.
play svb 10 ball come on.donny knows he cant win in 10 ball.
svb is a better player.
but you guys think donny cant play or can only play ryo 9 ball.
do this lets take the 13 best players in the us ok now after them find 5 players to play donny 10 ball.
ill bet you dont get 5 players to play him 10 ball.
so he is in the top 15 in the us in 10 ball he can play.

I'm not taking anything away from shane. If you could see all the threads about this you would see where I am coming from. I'm basically responding to all the bashing threads only on this thread and not all the others. Shane did play outstanding the last part of the match!!... BUT If I like a game I will post it on here. Honestly I think it was a fluke that I lost and I'd like to play again. Race to 120 or 150.

I don't like hiding my thoughts whether I feel like I can't win or if I feel like the favorite.

Donny played WORLD CLASS pool against the best player in the country. Giving his all for two days to entertain us all and hopefully win some cash. He could have played this game without the cameras, but he put himself out there. Only to wake up to bashing? Come on now people.

Donny have every right to defend himself against people posting nonsense. You are entitled to your thoughts just as he is. Hes not spouting off about how great he is, only defending the fact that he can play with ANYONE. I cannot believe he even needs to. His actions speak louder than words.

Anyone with any doubts about Donny's 10ball game, the lines form in Clearwater.

Donny,

You played great for 75+ games. Everyone applauds your efforts. Why are you saying 120 or 150 now? 100 isnt a short race, IMO. Do you really honestly believe Shane was lucky to have won this match? You made the wing ball 82 of 83 breaks, and still lost by 17 games. You displayed all of your weapons and came up short, so did Corey, so did Earl, and all 3 of you had that same defeated look at the end like WTF just happened? I'm sure you may kick a little better next time or you may get a few more good rolls, but can you break any better than this? I dont really think so, and you didnt get there. I am in no way knocking you, just trying to understand how you think you could possibly have played again today or tomorrow and done any better. Can you tell us where you think you failed? Breaking? Safety play? Was there something distracting your focus in the latter part of this match?

Thanks for responding Donny, your a class act. I look forward to sweating the next match up. To me you are an inspiration. Not being a full time player and playing as strong as you do is as good as it gets. Like I said before. I doubt you'll get any others stepping up to try you in that game.

This was a great match and I had a front row seat to see both players do awesome! Donny's break was amazing, I have never seen anything like it in 30 years of watching pool. It was a tough match, but I certainly knew that it wasn't going to be easy after seeing how well Donny played at the US Open.

Donny was a complete gentleman and never did anything out of line at any time, unfortunately this is rare in todays pool matches. He is the type of player that I love to gamble against. I have learned that life is too short to gamble with idiots!

I am willing to stake Shane again at the same game, I think we should have a TAR rematch! I am not sure what Shane's schedule is like but I know I am tied up until after Derby.

I know that Donny has beat top players on neutral tables, so hopefully he will be able to get out to Derby and play some more of the same game. I am not sure if we will have time for a race to 100 while the Derby is going on though.
