Selling Rules.

Can there be some rules made up for posting items for sale. If there are already some I did not see them..

Things such as.

1. Seller must list a price and picture. (or link to the picture) Everyone will ask anyway so have your ducks in a row when posting the Item.

2. The first responder has first rights. So if someone posts an inquiry as to what size, what weight, ect...... that person should get first consideration after you reply with an answer. The interested party must reply back you your answer within 24 hrs weather they want it or not, if not, go ahead and make the deal with the next responder.
Keeping this posted on the forum and not in PM's will let everyone else see the Q&A's also plus there is a time stamp on the answer from the seller so we know when the 24 hour rule ends.

I am sure others will think of more to add..
 
They that don't have the common sense won't follow the rules anyway.

Your very first idea for a rule won't, and shouldn't, fly so where do you go from there?

Rather than make rules, why not just operate by your own set? If you think all offerings should have a price, why not just pass those that don't and go on to the next rather than trying to make a rule that flat won't work for many of the high end sellers and buyers here at AZ ?

Well since you feel it should not fly I guess your the same type that lists a car for sale but does not lilst mileage or price. What's the difference in posting here for sale and listing a price and some of the same guys selling on ebay where you have to list a starting price. (or buy it now or reserve)

I guess making things easy for buyers id just too hard to do.. Forget I ever posted this. But it would be nice to have some information about what is being sold along with pictures.

Sounds like too many here are not subject to change..

yea and you can't teach a old dog new tricks. It still makes me wonder how the hell come people get through everyday life at work. If things at work did not change and improve we would go under in a hurry. Everyone likes to ***** about it before trying it.
 
Post it in the For Sale section. Many people here could care less about selling/buying a cue on the internet-me being one of them. There are people here that never go to the For Sale section and vice versa.

Your guess about what kind of guy I am is incorrect and says much more about you than it does about me.

A seller has every right to limit the group of people his sale attracts in any way he wishes. I believe that is the total definition of "It's his business".

I can think of at least 10 good reasons a seller might not want to post pictures of a cue he is selling and if you aren't interested enough to PM him for pics and price you really aren't a serious buyer. In addition, if you are a serious buyer and object to the sale because there are no pics, well then that's the seller's loss, and again, "his business".

Just for your information, when I sell, I post loads of pictures and either a price or I sell at true auction with no reserve, but that's just me, others have a right to do it anyway they see fit. Sure I'd like to know the details of every Balabushka or Szam sale that takes place on this forum but in most cases (unfortunately) it just isn't any of my business.

AZ's W-F/S forum is the best Internet marketplace in our Industry. It didn't achieve that status without careful consideration of operations, so buy, sell, and enjoy. The rules have already been put in place for you.

That would be against the rules as the poster offers nothing for sale.:rolleyes:

I was going to post it there first then read the sticky.. O well.

I can understand some high priced items (high as in over $5000) not wanting to list a price even more so if it's a $20,000 cue but pictures in every F/S post would be nice..

Ebay is an auction site, and you will probably get what the market demands for your item, even if you do not know that price off-hand. I think a lot of times when people do not list a price or ask for best offer, they just do not know what to ask. I know for me I have listed things on Ebay, because I didn't know the price to ask. I would have rather sold the item to an AZ'er, but I would not have had a price and did not want to get flack for not listing a price. In these cases, the item was vintage and kind of rare.

In a perfect world everyone would have set prices and great pictures, but I would not make it mandatory to do so. It does sucks sometimes, but oh well.
