Az billiards classic poker tournament

Well since hes a deadbeat drug dealer whos going to prison, i guess the shoe fits.

This thread was fun. Thanks to those of you who ruined it this morning. Hopefully the game this weekend is a good one without any of this BS.

I'm sure it was fun for Keith too, Richardson, but when he wakes up this morning and reads what was written, I'm sure he will be just as bummed out as you are by how this thread was ruined for you.

His feelings and mine don't matter to you, I guess, and that's fine. I didn't write the untruths in this thread, and neither did Keith.

And best of all, you won't have to worry about either of those accounts in one of your AzBilliards poker games again. So do what you want.

I am sorry to hear that Keith won't play more AZ-pokergames.

I enjoyed playing in the same event as one of my heroes, and I would love it if he could join these tournaments again at a later date.

Not to hijack the thread, but since it is way off already, I might try to change direction of it :D

I hope Keith and you will go to DCC. I asked him yesterday, and he wasn't sure yet. As both of you know, he IS a living legend in our sport, and there are hundreds of people who would love to see him play the Derby City Classic...

So, Roy, is it okay in your mind for Corvette to accuse me of impersonating Tony last night on the poker game, even after I have vehemently denied it?

I have no reason to not believe you when you say that it was Tony Chohan using the Timepick51 account.

No matter who used it, that person crossed the line and ruined some of the fun we had, imo.

I am sorry to hear that you have made this decision on behalf of Keith.

Roy, please don't make insinuations about "decision on behalf of Keith."

And I'm the one taking the heat for it. Does that seem fair to you, Roy?

It's never fair to be accused for something that you have not done.

In this case there is no evidence of who used the account, it's just he says-she says.

I have chosen to believe that it was Tony that used the account, but it really doesn't matter what I think.

I just thought I read that you didn't know when the tournament ended, and that Keith was still asleep, so I guessed that he hasn't told you yet if he will play another AZ-poker tournament or not.

Of course, he could perfectly well have made that decision before the game started yesterday, or during the game, and told you, and if that's the case I am very sorry for my wild guessing.

Roy, I have been with Keith for about 10 years now, and I think I know him pretty well.

When he reads this thread, I am pretty sure that his reaction will not be happy or positive.

I posted in this thread before the poker game and asked Keith to post in this thread before the poker game, thinking it would be fun and help get more pool players into the mix. I was trying to do something positive for this poker game initially.

It ends up that I'm being accused of being Tony Chohan on chat in the poker game, and Keith's account on Pokerstars is being threatened in this thread.

Tell me, do you think he'll be happy to play an AzBilliards poker game again?

Remember, I posted and had Keith post in this thread before the poker game, trying to help promote the game and get more people involved. Look at my reward.

I understand, and I am sorry for the way I worded my previous post. I could just delete it now, but then I would appreciate if you also deleted the posts that is in reference to it.

I am sorry too, Roy. You don't have to delete your words. I'm just sorry I got Keith involved in this poker game. It was my fault. He really wasn't as enthusiastic about playing in it as I was, and I encouraged him to do so, thinking it would be nice to hang out with pool people. I made a mistake in judgment, I guess. If Keith has his way, I won't be posting on this forum anymore.

Thanks for your post. You really are a gentleman and a nice person. :)

My brother has a home in Happy Camp, California. He usually lives there, but he's been staying with me for a few years because he has cancer. He's been going to the VA for treatment, which is near our home. Happy Camp, California, is about a 3-hour drive to the VA hospital in Medford, Oregon, the closest one. Currently, my brother is taking chemotherapy. I live 5 minutes from the VA Medical Center in D.C.

Sorry to hear about your brother. I work A LOT with the VA of this country and know they have people there that really care about the treatment of their patients.

Just a suggestion, if your brother is on Chemo he might inquire about receiving a home infusion. This would also save him a trip and time to the VA. Lots of patients enjoy this care for its convenience.

I have never been to that part of the country but I used my references for the VA around your brother's home. The Medford location is the closest. It must be quite a trip cause even MSN shows the 73 miles to Medford as over a 2 hour trip. That would drive me nuts to have to drive thru the mountains (I am guessing) just to get anywhere. Be nice to live there, just not so nice when you had to leave.

Congrats to Keith for his high finish in the tourney. Hopefully my home computer will be fixed and I'll join in the next tourney.

I had a great time and think everyone else did too. Chatting with people you know from AZBilliards made it far more exciting than an anonymous tournament.

Really enjoyed playing against you all and I was honestly impressed with how Corvette and Keith played. Corvette was a low stack for a long time, but patience allowed him to slowly build it up. I really expected him to be gone in 10-15th place, but he managed to outlast me. Keith plugged away, holding 2nd position for most of the tournament, and used his large chip stack effectively (and also got lucky!).

Richardson played very well too, but he had a dominating stack early, so getting to the final three (and ultimately winning) wasn't a big surprise for anyone.

With 5 players left, I put myself in a strong position to be 2nd in chips and a certainty to get into the money, but then Keith got lucky and knocked me out with runner/runner to get a straight. However, I also had luck early on when Roy had jj against my AK and I got an A on the turn. Did you all like my "Go USA!" comment?!? Sorry Roy! So luck went both ways.

Anyway, please don't let that one person in chat drive Keith away. I think it was unanimous, and Keith will agree when he wakes up, that this was a great tournament enjoyed by all. Let's just make sure that account isn't available for non players then the chat will be cleaner.

Not sure what the turnout will be this Sunday (it's a busy travel day since it's Thanksgiving weekend). I'm still licking my wounds, so may be too early for me!

Thank you for your kind words about my brother. He actually is giving himself the home shots and taking the pills twice a day. Actually, my daughter is giving him the shot in his stomach. The first time he tried to do it, the medicine spilled out. They gave him a video to watch, but it is better that my daughter does it for him, every Tuesday at 7 p.m. sharp.

Right now, he is having horrible side effects, white blood cells down low, and he has to keep going to the hospital to get tested. Currently, his whole body is broken out in a terrible red rash, almost like shingles or hives. He's a small man in stature, but a proud Vietnam-era Marine. He now weighs in at 125 and is dropping weight every week. It breaks my heart to see him suffer like this. He locks himself in his room most days, and he is very depressed.

It is funny you should bring up Medford being 73 miles. LOL! :grin-square:

The problem is where he lives in Happy Camp, it is up in the mountains, and when you have to drive those mountain roads, especially during bad weather, you can only go 20 miles an hour. He says they get 20 feet of snow. I'm not sure if he is kidding or not, but when hey lose power, they have a generator to keep things going and a wood-burning stove.

At any rate, that is why it takes so long to get to Medford from Happy Camp. I don't know why he ever bought a place there, but he and my other brother did it together. My other brother is still living there now, while this brother is staying with me until his treatments are done. Thanks for the good wishes for my brother, Watchez. He needs the positive energy right now!

Its funny how everyone is talking of how good this guy did or that guy did..................................I FINISHED SECOND..............HELLO.

Yeah, but you were hosting the event so everyone was being nice to you.

If you were just a drop-in like us others I would have busted you before Beetle kicked me out.

congratulations btw

Yes, I forgot to include you! You and Vette were neck and neck with low stacks for a long time and I had you counted out too. I knew of the bet you two had, so I was really watching how that rivalry played out. It was an extra entertaining twist.

It's just that I though Corvette was a braggart regarding his poker prowess (no offense), so I was a little more focussed on his chip stack. I will say, you both have the goods.

AZBGerry also impressed me. He got really low in chips but then went on a roll and got a big stack and hung in there for a long time.

You are the better player so you deserved to beat me :)

As long as Team Europe brings home the Cup I don't care about some poker-event. :D :D

Especially not since I won $ 20 from Vette since he got a lower finish than Keith ;)

($ 20 from Vette feels like $ 200, atleast)

lol, no offense taken. I've been playing online for about 10 years now and it's all I did for 10-12 hours a day for 2-3 years before I moved back from Athens. You kind of have to get pretty decent at it or you can't play anymore, lol.
