People who don't know enough to use "spell check".

I guess the grammar and spelling police are kinda funny to me...they dont annoy me really, its just funny that people are trying to correct a grown mans spelling on a pool forum :thud:

I mean, I know we are all rocket scientist here, but when I post during the day, I am at work and I am sure I have mispelled a rod or two..or 3...I dunno, spelling and grammar police are just funny to me:grin:

lookie lous

People who tell you they want to buy something you are selling and then never follow thru. They then feel that it is proper to ignore your PM asking them if they are still interested instead of just replying. If I take the time to respond to someone I feel they should take the time to let me know they changed their mind. :frown:

I think the spelling police took 2nd place in one too many spelling bees in grade school.

I'm not the grammer and spelling police. You shouldn't have to correct grown men but sometimes you can't make head or tail of a post, maybe because, like you, some people post from work and are rushed. Sure, everybody misspells a word now and them, but some folks obviously don't even try. And I'm not talking about Fatboy! I'm also aware that English is not the first language of some of the people here. Robert Byrne's name spelled Byrnes, for instance. Is that misspelling or just ignorance?

I'd like to add one other section:

People who try and rob other AZ members with overpriced items for sale or even odds on huge favorites for their bets.

For example, people keep trying to sell the Eddie Robin 1-P books for 600 bucks for both of them when you can get them from the author for half that. Onepocket.org has someone selling them right now for 600 bucks, and Eddie Robin posted there last month. Someone deleted a "thats a rip off price" post after getting chastised.

Or..."I'll take Pacquio....even." when the odds are 2.5 to 1

No one has to buy or bet, but there is a point where its almost insulting.

How am I the first one to type these words in this thread???

COCOBOLO COWBOY.

Let's just say without naming names, there was one particular person out of everyone on these forums that came to mind, when I put in Question 1 of the poll.

Votes are all over the Board. Is that good or bad? I hate it when someone starts a new thread about a topic that already has 5 threads.

It sure gets frustrating wading through posts like the ones below:

I just got a new "insert name here" cue.
I just won a $5 tournament, here's the blow by blow.
Our APA team just won 4th place in our league.
I just beat an APA 7. Here's how I did it.
Here's a pic of my cue.
What's the best chalk/tip/balls/breaker/shaft/table/cloth/bridge/cue holder/cue case/joint/ferrule/cue weight/tip size/tip shape/cue cleaner? and on and on and on and on.....

I can understand that people get excited about new cues and winning tournaments and leagues... but... do they really think that total strangers give a damn?

Legit questions from those just getting/wanting to get into this great sport. These types of questions are why some want to become part of AZ to begin with.

I can understand that people get excited about new cues and winning tournaments and leagues... but... do they really think that total strangers give a damn?

If they are presenting these to a group of caring people whom they feel are out to promote the sport and provide encouragement -- yes.

I visit this forum every day, but I only post when I have something worth posting. I wish many others would do the same..... On that note, I have quite a list of things that annoy me..

-People who make a hundred posts a day just to increase post count

-The same people who start a new topic just to mention that they have reached a specific post number. "Hey, look! My 96,958,456 post!" F-Off! Nobody cares. Get a life.

-People that fail to use punctuation, spell check, or the preview button before posting. Why is it so hard to carefully read through what you have written to make sure that it actually makes sense?? If you do read through it and it seems to make sense to you, but not to anyone else, you just suck at life.

-Repeat topics. I don't mind someone mentioning something that has been covered in the past. It is a forum and new members join every day. I understand that the same topics may be covered several times. Not everyone knows how to do a search properly. That is fine. But, when there is a thread already going and someone else starts another thread covering the exact same topic, I have to believe that this person is a narcissist. For these people, my advice is this: stop posting for a week, or even a month, see if anyone misses you; I know I won't.

-Low level players giving advice in the forum like they actually know what the hell they are talking about.

-People that don't even shoot pool anymore, that couldn't shoot even when they used to play, that continue to clutter up the forums with useless garbage.

-People that post something for sale, claiming that it is worth a mint, and getting pissed off when someone tells them the true value.

-Polls that are useless.

-People that ask "How would you play this shot?", then wait a couple of days and tell everyone "Well, these are all good responses, but this is how I played it." Then, they show some silly low probability shot that they nailed and won the set with. Some of these guys could absolutely rob Efren playing some 1 pocket. Don't get me wrong, I have seen and made some really incredible, low probability shots, but you don't have to be a dink when you tell everyone about it, acting as if it were a relatively easy shot. If you made it, that's great. If you missed it, stop kidding yourself. You suck. You always will suck, and you might better just take up another hobby like basket weaving. Stop cluttering up the pool forum.

-People that bash others. So maybe you don't agree with someone else on the forum. That's fine. There is no need to turn it into a personal attack. So, maybe I like Moori tips and you like Triangles... So what. Is that any reason for me to get pissed at you and punch you in the face? Probably not, so why bother attacking someone just for disagreeing?

-People that sit on this forum day and night talking about how good they are, once were, or are going to be... Face it, the time that you waste on this forum is time that you could be at the table practicing. Since you're not at the table, I have to believe that you really aren't as good as you say you are. Stop kidding yourself.

That covers most of it... I apologize if I offended anyone.. I have a bad toothache and I'm a bit pissy because of it.

For some reason, I can't stand when people put IMO, IMHO, JMO, or JMHO in their replies. Some people seem to do it just about every time they reply to a thread.
