Here are three tremendous non wrapped handle cues. I love how they look together, how each had the handle done a bit different, from simple to a fabulous design.....tell me what you think of these. Then later Jeffy Icon can tell us how were all wrong....LOL

I was at Chris Byrne's shop over the weekend to talk about some projects. He is very easy to work with and has some really nice cues in the works. I went there expecting to order 2 but it looks like it turned in to 4.
 
Steve, I think this picture needs a fourth cue in there; your newest Hercek with the segmented leather wrapped handle.
 
I am not sure which is which,but all 3 are very nice,Whoever said less is more
didn't have the cues in mind. At the risk of exposing my backside,I am not familiar with Byrne,if someone would send me his phone number and some history or more pictures,I would be appreciative.

Great cues Steve,one last thing that could easily expose me to wrath,Its about time for Steve and Jeff to cease the hostilities,I think highly of both of them,and would not be surprised if they became friends.

Steve, it really amazes me how varied your taste is in cues.

I'm sure you appreciate the art of each cue you have from the plain Balabushka's to the Manzino's and others.

Just wondering, do you collect other things besides cues ?

I'm sure you would make a great collector of coins. I find coins fascinating, just thinking about what was going on in the world when they were produced. It's like traveling back in time.

I sure do love looking at the cues you do post as I'm sure most of our brothers and sisters on this forum do.

Without you and the other great collectors we could only wonder what some cues look like. Thanks to you and some of the other guy's, we can have them in our home.

call me crazy,but I think its not a good idea to rate or compare cues".Why ?" do you say.Because I know how hard it is to make a living selling cues,and how very difficult it is to make a cue that is this nice.All 3 of these cue makers are probably in the top 10 in the world and each one still sells cues to earn a living

The comparisons are subjective,and really unfair because the cue makers were not competing to show their best work,the cues were probably influenced by the customer.By price restrictions and maybe personal preference.

Personally I have owneda lot lot of nice cues,mostly Balabushka,Szamboti ,Scruggs,and others,
in other words the best traditional cues,I am still having trouble getting my mind open to the newer styles,but I must say"All 3 of these cues are great looking cues that I would like to own"

Please do not think I am criticizing those who make comparisons,nothing morally wrong. I just think the cues speak for themselves,and if you are considering buying from cuemaker "a" and you really like the other 2 cues more,that is really not sufficient reason to abandon your initial cuemaker.The one he makes for you may be the best cue you ever saw.Make your decision based on the cuemakers overall reputation and the complete body of his work.

I am not knowledgeable first hand of all 3,I owned 2 of them and each was nice,but not this nice.

I like the group pics you have been shooting. The reason why is it seems to show the cues better, one cue at time in a pic can be decieving, but for some reason I "see more" when there are 2 or 3 cues, possibly 4. Any more than 4 cues it gets to complicated.

I dont compair cues, by saying this one is better than that one, or I have the biggest one etc. Cue collecting inst a competition, playing pool is.


I love the line up of 3 cues, even 3 cues from totally different time periods would be cool, a Bushka, Barry Szam, and something brand new, The pics with 3 cues just makes for a better perspective. I'm kinda at a loss for words. But I enjoy the pics alot.

I find that when I am putting three cues together for some pics I end up picking ones that I think belong with each other. Either they are similar in amount of workmanship or maybe they are similar in how I percieve there value to myself.

When you decide to have a group pictures of your cues. It is only reasonable that you find a common theme amongst the group that you are about to shoot and have their pictures taken. Whatever the combination of cues are, all your cues look damn lovely.
 
Chris Byrne Cue

I just had to chime in on the Chris Byrne cue since I saw him today.
He is a perfectionist and this cue is a fine example of his capabilities.

great minds think alike, and thanks again for all the pics. I enjoy them daily. I can enjoy cues I dont own as much as the ones I do.

As far as value goes, I have some cues in my collection I woudnt take 10 times what the "market" value of the cue is, for my own reasons. as do you.
 
They're all quite stunning, but if I had to say which I like the best it would be the Haley.
