I watched it this morning and was curious as to what the Justis case owners and possible Justis case owners thought of the video.

This is not to side one way or the other. This is just out of curiousity.

I own a few Instroke cases, an Imitation Instroke(Vincitore) case and some Porper cases. I've seen a few Justis cases in person and have yet to see a JB case in person.

Also, I would like to see the drop test performed on a JB Case where the pin would drop toward the lid as shaking is different then a 4 foot fall.

And what are the comparisons between the organic rebound interior and the ultra pad interior and tube style interior in the JB Cases.

Does anyone know ... or has anyone (John Barton) reported the number of people that tuned in to that broadcast ??? I'd be curious to know.

Well I'll tell yah this John did a nice video I'll grant him that .

But I will still be placing my order this coming week with Jack .

Another thing I want to touch on is in the video were he's shaking the case and dropping it .

There's not a chance in hell that I would shake my case to the point where everything would rattle , Second when is there a time that I'm going to drop my case from 4 feet in the air , never .

If your careful with your stuff 99.9% never will get recked .

But Good Video again John .

a little squirrely

it was kind of unerving.

is he pissed or something? i'm sorry but maybe i don't know enough about what's going on with the history between both makers.

i guess it was kind of informative but he seemed kind of angry. maybe taking things a little too personaly.

my take, just my too cents.

thanks for the link

I have never had a Justis or JB case, although I do like the looks of both of their cases. I started to watch it but like all the long drawn out posts I lost interest and started skipping ahead and then just stopped watching it. I think if this video was done in place of all the ranting in every case thread over the past few months that it would have been easier to tolerate. It was informative but seemed way too personal an turned me away.
I did see his demonstration about a case being tipped over off a table and the butts and shafts falling out. I see some people at my local pool hall leave their cases where they could fall over like that. Personally though, I open my case take out my cues, close my case, lean it on something and play. When I am done playing, I open it, put my cues back in and close it. So for me, my cues are not going to fall out and most of the people I see do it similar to my way.

Video

I think if you subtracted the Jack vs. John controversy from AZ Billiards during this long holiday weekend,
this forum would have been more boring than that video.

Now I know how engineers feel after I get up for an hour and discuss coefficients of flow velocities (Cv)
and how it relates to control valve sizing vs. pipe sizing (Fp)

If you go to the ustream show page http://www.ustream.tv/channel/jb-cases---open-house and look above the chat box it says there were a total of 295 views.

That number can be deceiving imo, as it is how many times the show was was logged onto. If one person were to log on 10 times it would count as 10 views.

Ustream provides a metrics to the broadcaster that gives unique viewers but that number is also deceiving. The total unique viewers is a total of all the different segments by that broadcaster, for that show and for the time period designated by the broadcaster.

I just don't get it. I mean....the majority of the video was about dropping the case and having the pins contact the wood. Isn't that what joint protectors are for?

I don't see what the squabble is over. Both case makers look very skilled to me. I also like the look of both products.

*very confused

I think this squabble is ridiculous. Both case makers are very solid and do things their own way. All this bickering is doing is making them look bad and losing both of them customers. I bought an On-Q and it is a fantastic case. It was a very hard decision choosing which maker to make it but this poor display between these two casemakers made it easy.

This is what he promised:

This coming Saturday at 9pm est we are having a live open house via the internet. On either UStream or JustinTV we will attempt to broadcast our first open look at our workshop and what goes into JB Cases and the related brands we work on.

We will be taking case questions via chat and I will answer them live on air.

I will also be reviewing a few cases such as the J.E.F case, It's George, Ron Thomas, Jack Justis and of course our own brands such as JB Cases, J.Flowers, Sterling Wave, GTF, and any others that you all might want to see that I happen to have handy.

We will be dissecting the cases live and going over all comparison points.

If you ever wanted to know how a cue case is made then this is a good opportunity to participate. If you can't make it then the video will be available through multiple channels at a later date.

I will post the exact link as soon as I work out the details of which provider I will use.

See you then,

John Barton - JB Cases

What we got was a slam Jack Justis fest. Ok I get it, but when you advertise something, you really need to provide it. Maybe I missed the reviews on the Thoms, the JEF case, It's George, Sterling Wave and GTF. Maybe there is a second part I missed?

What about the open look at the workshop? What I saw was a table and a shelving unit. Are your cases not made in that location? You should have done what was advertised, you could have come off a little less bitter. You had an opportunity to actually sway some of your detractors, but instead John, you have given them more of a reason to think your an a$$. This was not an open house into the shop, or into the mind of JB the designer, it was only a whack Jack off fest.

Hopefully in the future, you'll address what you offer and not concentrate on being vindictive, or at least attempt to work in your original idea.

In that video I was expecting to see some cases getting made. Where did you drop YOUR case to show any effect in relation to your dropping of the Justis? I think you could have made major strides had the motive been less vindictive and more to your original post. Just my thoughts...

thoughts on the video??????

so where are the thoughts on the video and what people saw? I guess what I am really asking is what people thought about what the Justis provides as protection? All the people that are giving their opinions of JB and how he did his video and his actions are just making things worse along with Mr. Justis w/ his "zzzzzzzz" response.

I understand that people dislike JB and Jack for what ever reasons. You can't please everyone as we have seen. I'm just curious if what you have seen, changes or doesn't change your thoughts on the protection Justis has, not on what you think of JB or his actions.

TBO,His actions were overbored and uncalled for(childish I might say) but each to his own when they feel attacked. And, maybe he has tooooooo much time on his hands!!!!

That being said.... What are YOUR thoughts on the video and what you saw in it?

Questions

Then, regarding the content of the video, I have three questions:

Is John offering to sell his interiors to be used in non-Barton cases? I thought that's what I heard.

Are case interiors, as John demonstrated, NOT fastened inside their leather shell? That seems peculiar to me.

Did everyone elses video just stop at 47:48, like mine?

Just curious. Thanks.

JB did say he would sell interiors to fit inside a Justis case.

I noticed the same thing about not being attached to the exterior. Not sure if that is common practice or just for deminstration.

It stopped there for me too.

I would be interested in a JB interior for Justis case.

I have an old tube style, but I do think that if he has a "retrofit" interior I would be interested.
