Perfect Aim Thread: Cont....

Welcome back spidey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow!! Nice one Bob!

...since it looks like the last thread was closed/locked or something

Well whaddya know, my ban was lifted early. Imagine that.

Now that I can finally make a post on this thing....I stand by every single word I said in that last thread. I said what I wanted to say with conviction and I'd say it to everyone's face if I could. I'm not a keyboard "player" like a few others on here. I'll leave it at that-- after 16 pages or so in the other thread--- we're beating a dead horse now.

In regards to qualifications to posters.... of course you have to play well to be somewhat qualified. To say that you don't is ludicrous. Why? Because there are just FAR too many super-intelligent pool players who DO play well. Why bother with those who don't. For some reason, there is a notion that good players are mindless ogres who don't understand the technical aspects of the game --- this couldn't be farther from the truth.

Great players have found ways to take a complicated game and make it simple. It's "novel" to debate some of the more exotic math and physics, but it doesn't apply to everyday playing. When you're playing, you perceive lines and feel speed. Thoughts more complicated than that are unnecessary. Like many others here, I know a lot about the technical aspects of pool as they help with foundation. Outside of basic technique, it often doesn't apply to execution.

Do you have to be a good player to be a great teacher? I think so. We can debate that all we want but it is what it is. Why? Because it's SO easy to be a good player (at least to be able to run a rack a bunch of times in a session) that there's no excuse to not be. If you can't, you haven't put in the time to get there. Once again, there are SO many good players who are SMART with pool (and can teach) -- why NOT get a lesson from them? The ones who argue the other direction prob can't play, right? I wouldn't get surgery done by someone who knew everything about the surgery but never cut into a body --- would you?

Before you comment about how David Leadbetter can't beat the guy he's teaching - you're right. However, guys like him aren't REALLY teaching - they're "suggesting" things to already-champion "gifted" players. It's not like Tiger goes to your local golf driving range for a lesson. Why not? That guy is likely smart with golf, right? Wrong. They're idiots in the grand scheme of things. Please don't think I'm knocking ANY instructor on here-- I'm not. I'm just talking in generalities. Like I said - there are just TOO MANY super-smart teachers who play great to pay attention to someone who doesn't. In business, I never shadowed someone who wasn't a multi-millionaire because if they were so smart themselves - they'd be one. Does that mean you can't learn something from a hack? Sure - Efren is quoted as learning from watching complete hacks. However, that's the exception not the rule.

Sorry for the tangent - let's get back on topic....

The internet is a grand thing. It allows the small to be big, the big to be small - and the cover to make it hard to tell the difference. In the end, on this site at least, it's all about knowledge and execution. Some can do one, some can do both, some don't have either. There might even be some who are impostors with one or both... the internet makes it tough to tell. Pay close attention to those who never post videos of themselves playing, ever, or show up to any events - ever. Guys who have screen-names implying they're pros or stars when they're likely not. Before you run to nuthug, make sure there are nuts to hug - catch my drift? It's the nutless that tend to defend each other and band together to form an attack because between 10 guys (literally) - they're hoping to send in one nut.

Good luck with that.

It's good to be back -

Hi there Spidey,

I just got back from playing pool. Imagine that. And I see this new Perfect Aim thread.

When I saw you back I wasn't surprised.

I've been real busy giving lessons up in the cities for the last 2 weeks. Also played in about 4 tournaments. 3 small and one large.

I'm leaving for Oshkosh tomorrow to play in the ACS tournament there. My friend Jeremy owns the room there. It will be alot of fun. Jeremy went to college in Eau Claire and hung out in my poolroom. He's a good guy. I can see why he's doing good. He really cares about people.

Too bad you don't live closer and you could play. I think it will be a great tournament. I always seem to meet a few players that have learned Perfect Aim at each and every tournament I go to. It's great.

What's really cool is like for example when I met Cookieman in Maryland I could give him some advice to kind of tweek his aim. Kind of advanced Perfect Aim.

Thanks Spidey and everyone else for the support. Geno............

well if this post isnt a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. youre comment about about the internet allowing the small to be big, a little autobiographical? you really have nothing at all to say about "nuthugging" as your work in the previous thread shows how the real nut hugger is. also i dont know why you chose to call this thread perfect aim cont as so far it only contains your continued rant from that thread.

NO , thank you GENE!!!

Tap tap tap

Once again, your making references about my game, based on my handle, when i have made ZERO references about either.
Quite the obsession you have.

There is no need for strutting as that is arrogant. But apparently, you're so bent, that you feel the need to take the pepsi challenge for some validation to stroke your ego.

You have no idea what i'm made of, and that's precisely what bothers you.
Can't help you there, your just gonna have to deal.
Sorry to say, i will never post a video of myself, and risk death, just so YOU can pass judgment on if i am up to your standards or not, so that my posts can either have more or less merit in your eyes.
TRUST ME, it's never gonna happen.
Sorry to say, but you are simply not that important.

Well said. Thanks for speaking my mind too. All out of rep for you.

regards.....Paul

If i had known that you were going to get so bent over a handle that was chosen many years ago, i would have called myself CHEESECAKE instead,

Cheesecake would be a perfect name for you. If you change your name to cheesecake, I'll be quiet. You're the one between here and the jimbo forum where you post matter-of-fact comments about certain subjects as if you can play. Looking at your sig line--- you have a good reference. You prob are like Humpty Dumpty --- an egg about to get cracked. You seemed to have a lot to say when I was banned for nothing and couldn't post. I never even engaged you-- you were the one who mouthed off to me about something that happened almost two years ago. So if you're gonna be a superstar, act like it. What is your name, anyways? Everyone knows mine. Or, are you gonna:

Do you guys realize that you are making this a pretty miserable place to be? What is the point of posting a comment when you feel that someone out there is just waiting to jump with some derogatory personal remarks?

Perhaps you should really give some thought to those other 20,000 posters.

In most places they would tell you to "take it outside."

You're right, Joe. I've definitely contributed to the heat--- but it wasn't instigated by me. I said what I wanted to. Will let it go.

So you went into hiding over the chucking of the cue for 2 years, and not one, yet you don't understand that if you were the one to make the claim, and offer up the video and then bail, why you were called out on it. Seriously, it's not that difficult a concept to grasp, but maybe you are not capable. Who knows.

And once again you question my game, which i have made no reference to, other then your fascination with it.
I don't have to act in any way shape or form to appease you. And no one needs the Spidey seal of approval to post on the forum. Sorry but the only one who thinks that you are that important, is YOU.
Simple as that.

I have never once begged you to believe anything especially in regards to my game, yet you seem to think that at the end of each post, that i end it with, ..."oh yeah, i play absolutely fantastic" Which i don't.

Who cares if everyone knows your name. What is this, a high school popularity contest?
Sorry Spidey. Not gonna change anything because of what you want.
You can continue ad nauseum but the end result will not change.

I doubt that's gonna stop you from trying though.

Bye Spidey. It was nice while it lasted.
:D

You're missing my point - I made two videos at that time (1.5 years ago). YOU called me out to instigate and cause trouble in the other thread. Now that I called you on that-- you're throwing back at me like I'm the trouble maker. Nice try. If you're gonna whip and dog someone to post up and they do, you better be man enough to take it yourself. You're obviously not.

Anyways, as I said in my previous post-- I said my peace. Peace to ya, SuperSTAR.

Incorrect. If your gonna say it, at least get it right.

I made mention of the video you FAILED to post, and in the past couple of threads, you admit to not posting it for whatever reason, so the other 2 videos do not constitute the video that you said you'd do.

You didn't post that video till the past week.

When i promise to post a video of myself and fail to deliver, you can whip the dog all you want.
Till then, as much as it pains you, you're just gonna have to wait.
Later.

Hey Gene. A quick question. Players have different stances at the table. Some square up to the shot others are slightly turned. Some stand more upright while others have their chins on top of the cue. Many shoot with the cue between their eyes others will have their stick positioned under the dominant eye. With all these variables can someone use perfect aim with what they have always used or will they have to conform to the system?

Spider let it go and quit reading the thread already man...

This has turned into nothing but a p*ssing contest between you two and you both seemed worried about your reps and how it looks to the other members.

I'll tell you how it looks, it looks pointless and stupid that you are arguing with basically a "name" on the e-net.

I'm not taking sides, just let it go and carry on already

Great questions.............

Hi there eezbanks,

First of all I want to thank you for asking.

I don't claim to be an expert on the stance but there are some pretty standard ways to position your stance so your own body can function the best when you stroke the cue.

First you need to be solid. Like a boxer you need to be balanced. If your feet are to close together you are wobbly. Some players if their head is to low it cramps up their stroking ability. Some if they are to high they don't see it the best when others see it better when they are lower. Some of us have injuries that only allow us to function a certain way.

But as far as squaring up or being slightly turned it is up to the individual and how it feels the best. There are many good instructors out there that can help tweek your stance.

As far as having your chin on the cue or being up higher I shoot both ways. There again when I get real low I have some physical limitations because of age and injuries. But being up higher gives you some valuable info for when you get lower. Many players don't even relize that as they are going down on a shot they might just be going past the spot on the way down that it actually looks better for them and their body will function and do the best. Especially on shots where the balls are close you want to be higher. Try this and you will see that you can see the shot much easier. When you get low on these your eyes can almost seem to go a little cross eyed. Up higher this deosn't happen. Huge tip if you are not already doing this.

Most of us shoot with the cue somewhere between the eyes. Where the cue is depends on the degree of dominence. Some players appear to have the stick under one eye but they are just really strong eye dominent and other players look at this and think they are only shooting with one eye.

There are very few players that shoot with only one eye. I have seen some players that should be shooting with one eye that have tried to shoot with 2 for years. When they understand that they are one of these one eyed wonders and get the cue where they see it the best they are one happy camper. Sam Yancey is one of the Perfect Aim players that found this out while learning Perfect Aim. Now he sees the shots so clear he couldn't believe it.

Sam, I hope you don't mind me bringing up you name and your welcome to comment if you want. I remember you saying you only wish you would have found this out 25 years ago. I will take you up on the dinner also some day...................when I come through and I will..........

For the players that are truely one eyed players they usually know it. But many players feel like they are playing with one eye when really they play with both. The ones that truely play with one eye could put a patch over the other eye and it would make no difference. This simple test will tell you the truth. If you are not one eyed it will look terrible. You would wonder how one could see that way. But that is the way their eyes and brain are wired. Perfect Aim will not help these players have the eyes in the right position because it is just eye. One eye. There are some techniques that will help these players get the one eye in the right position and I help all of them I can. It seems like nobody quite understands how this works so it kind of puts these few players on an island. I understand because when I see one I try to learn everything I can from that individual. And with this knowledge I try to help whenever I run into one. I do it for free. These players usually shoot with a higher degree of accuracy. They don't have the problem of trying to get both eyes in the proper position. Or one trying to do more than the other. Perfect Aim does and will help all of these players.

Perfect Aim can be used with anything you are doing. Just like with a rifle if you don't have the sight lined up in the little slot it doesn't matter what you do you will not hit the target consistently.

With aiming a pool shot there is only one spot that is Perfect for that peticular player on that peticular shot. Once you learn how to find it you are opened up to a whole new world. You now can teach yourself how to find it on every single shot you shoot. Kind of like when you go to the eye doctor. Does this look better or does this. Or this or this.

Now that shot that you would get down on you don't quite see it right, it just doesn't feel right, now you know why and you can correct yourself. The fun part of this is now you don't have to give up on any shot. By this I mean when your down there you know it doesn't look right and you shoot it anyway. That is giving up. Sound familiar.

There is a song I think was sang by Freddy Bender. It starts out , I can see clearly now the rain has gone. This would be a Perfect theme song for Perfect Aim.

Good:grin-square: questions and thanks Geno..............
