Since there is alot of great advice and experience on this board who can recommend some nice custom joint protectors? I really don't like the off the shelf ones I see and would prefer some nice options. Maybe ebony/ wood, different delrin colors etc.

I had Dan Trogdon make these for me........I like em just fine

Joint protectors

Dave,
I am looking for 5 sets. A black delrin set for a Huebler, a black delrin set for a Joss, a maple & rosewood set for a Sugartree, a ebony & maple set for a Omen, and a ebony & maple set for a Coker. I would need help with the joint sizes.

Alton, cuecaps here on AZ, would be my choice. Search the cue gallery for his work, and you will be impressed.

softstick, my son use to make knives and also made some pistol grips, he is a perfectionist, so everything he makes is really nice. We would go to the pool room, and he would have his cue by the pool table and start walking around visiting with people, and not pay attention to his cue, because he always trusted everyone, he did this several times and I got tired of watching it for him, so one day when he did this, I hid it. He freaked out when he could not find it, he was so pissed off. When I told him what I did and gave it back to him, he was pissed and relieved, and he learned his lesson. He had a set of beautiful joint protectors, he had made from oosik, which is petrified walrus penile bone, (dick) He set them on the counter, which was by the table we were playing on one day, and people were coming by and admiring them, and he was telling them how he made them. I told him he better put them away, but he did not listen, and you got it, someone took them when we were not looking, He made me empty my pockets thinking I was teaching him another lesson, but finally realized some bastard had just stolen them. He never made another set, but he did learn a lesson.

i have used the protectors from mueller sports ( poolndarts.com ).
they work well , look good , and dont cost much. check'em out
they have 8 types of wood and 4 thread sizes. gl
