It would have been a moral victory if not for missing a fairly routine 4-ball for the win. All that shooting and fighting to get to that point in the match and give the match away on a 4 ball that had natural shape. That is not going to go down well.
Let's see how well you do under that kind of pressure. Not trying to pick fights, but have some respect.
Europe's just been having fun with USA now.

Stick with the topic at hand. People are claiming it would be a moral victory. I am simply pointing out that atm Oscar feels worse then ever because he actually DID shoot well and got himself into a position where he is supposed to win the match from there and missed a shot that he is supposed to make because he IS a great player. I have enough respect for his game to know bloody well that he is supposed to win the match from there, how about you?

Like I said, i'm not trying to pick a fight. I just felt your comment was disrespectful towards oscar. I'm good friends with oscar and he plays a lot better then what was displayed today. I agree with you that with his caliber of play he should have gotten out, but his nerves got the best of him.

Maybe an American shouldn't be telling you this, but those bottles of Skyy in that cabinet in the hotel rooms (the one you break the seal on)? You need to tell Team Europe that's NOT bottled water to bring to the matches!

Yeah, and I watched him drill Morra for the cash in front of a huge crowd and streamed on TAR. This is why I know for a fact that Oscar is better then that and that the nerves cost him a W in that match that he set himself up to win. I have been in the exact same position as Oscar there, coming from behind in a match like that, shooting well enough to get to a point where you have the win in sight, and then blowing it because of pressure and not being able to perform to your potential. It is a crushing thing and it is definately not something that makes you feel good or shoot better. Oscar is going to have to really focus and get a big win now to settle those nerves because after missing that shot the next time he is in the position to win he is going to have that miss in the back of his mind. I don't think anyone on that team, Oscar or anyone else wanted to see the match end that way. They are undoubtably going to support him and tell him he shot great (and he did to get there) but they are also going to know that losing a match like that is hard to come back from. If Souquet runs the last rack off a dry break Oscar would feel totally different then he does right now having missed that shot.
Getting beat is alot easier to rebound from then missing and beating yourself.
That shot didn't have a natural shape; the cue ball was almost frozen and the shape for the next needed to be forced. It definitely wasn't a gimme..
The 40s shot clock would be much better for the game quality wise, but they probably have it in 30s, cos it increases tension, and they want it to be tense, as it appeals for the audience..

Would some of the moderators make this thread sticky for the duration of the match? It would make it much easier to navigate through many similar titled topics.
Anyway, I believe the first day was a fluke. It seemed like the US team had every break going their way and that kind of luck wont continue forever.
