Top 10 players where you live.

While I dont live in AZ I would think that an All Around between Scott and Rodney would be interesting to say the least.

Did the Pankoff fellow lose some money for you or what??
third on one list and not in the top 10 in the other.

Pankoff is top 5 in the state IMOfor all around play, would like to see some of the top AZ players who post on here chime in.

Bet then

I am sure super nova has an inside opinion, but I know that Gene has never ben accused of not stepping up to a challenge. I would like to see all of them players get in the box with Gene. I believe barbox favors Gene against any one of them. On a 9', it is different. but I don't think any of them are a favorite. I am impartial to Genes game, for when I doubted he could win before, I was always proven wrong. Also, for that mater, half on that list could easily get played by chad d. Also, are you talking valley or diamond? Valley would not be close in the long run. Gene has outrun the nuts before. I guess the only way to settle would be to set something up. Gene is not hard to reach. Give him a call. My opinion, and I'm sticking to it. And yes, I am willing to to bet on Gene. Take care, and God Bless.

I would love to play any of those guys. I'd appreciate the action. If they don't want to bet alot ,which I'm sure they won't, we could play 200 to 500 sets or something.

I'm not woofing as they call it. It's just the way it is.

Mark O knows I can see.............

You know someone wants to put up some money we got action.

Good luck Geno............

Last time you were in Oshkosh you didn't want to play but hey, come down to Oshkosh and you can play Johnny some $200 sets, lock up $1,000.

Don't start with any excuses about the Varsity Club being smokey either because I've been in that place more than almost anyone and it NEVER gets smokey.

Chad can get action from a lot of people NOT on that list if he wants it.

Also agreed. It would be fun to watch. When is the varsity clubs next no master tourney? Also, the valley versus diamond question was answered? Varsity has diamonds only, correct?

Not sure when the next tourney is going to be. There is nothing scheduled right now. And yes, the Varsity Club is all Diamonds. There are 12 7' and 9 9'.

Whoa, you guys must like the slow death maximum torture type sets. I don't have a calculator in front of me, but someone would have to get 5 sets ahead? How can that be right?

That's what the guy staking Johnny said he wants them to play so that's what I posted.

Cool. Check out Eauclairepool.com if you get a chance.

I did. I got bored really quick though. Forums for one general area usually don't have much going on, especially for people outside the area. The site is done nicely though. I like simple designs. No need for a bunch of clutter.

There are only two players where I live and I am far better than my wife who rarely hits a ball.

I was sorry I went there.........

Yes Little John aka Johnny Fields still lives here. Gene isn't as great as people are making him out to be. He came to a tournament at the room I play out of with all the players I mentioned and he barley even cashed. Then he came back and got beat 9-3 playing bar table 9-ball with a player in the same skill range (maybe a touch above) as the players I mentioned. Again, Gene can get action against any of the players I mentioned if he wants.

As for Willie, he's still got some game left in him. Haven't seen much of him in the last year or two though. Of course I've been hanging out in the pool room and not near blackjack tables. lol.

As for that tourny,

I get too sick in the smoke. After 4 hours of being in there I was toast. I made a promise to myself to never play in the smoke again. It takes me 4 days afterwards to start feeling better.

If you want to base my ability on that tourny that's a mistake. .
I came back later to try and Play Tom McClusky and felt so bad from the smoke I couldn't make 3 balls in arow.

Tom played bad also. He looked at me in disbelief when I was missing shots.

Based on that day with the smoke I rank 276th in wis.

Hope none of these guys call you !!!

ARIZONA: Based on All Around Game.

1. Scott Frost
2. Mitch Ellerman
3. Mike Pankoff
4. Gus Briseno
5. Bernie Pettipiece
6. Jimmy Mendoza
7. Dennis Orender
8.George Teyechea
9. Paul Grande
10. Bobby Emmons

Honorable mention goes to Jimmy Langston but he does not play anymore, easily top 3 as an all around player in Arizona.

Hope none of these guys call you and give you hell for knocking their action for mentioning their name in the AZ forum....:mad::mad::mad:

Believe me, I know that feeling.:frown::frown:

Knocking their action, are f&#($ng serious?, this is not 1960 bud, these guys are all listed on the top 10 or close to it on the state tournament list of the DCT for everyone to see. These guys will be happy to be mentioned and are not looking to sneak up on anyone, pool has changed.

I was just making a point of that tourney, not using it as a base for your ability. I never said you can't play, I'm just saying you can't play as good as a lot of people are thinking you can. The offer is on the table for you to come back and play Johnny on a bartable. You said you would play so get down here and do it.

And again, THE VARSITY CLUB DOES NOT GET SMOKEY!!! You are the first person I've EVER heard say that and I've been in that place since it was first opened as Bo Dudley's years and years ago.

I'll give Minnesota a shot. I am not the authority that should be doing this list, it is open to change. I'll be the one to throw it out for argument. Don't hold me to the order:

1. Jimmy Wetch
2. Lee Heuwagen
3. Demi Jelatis
4. Beau Runningen
5. Jamie Pluta
6. Mario Parayano
7. Ty Wilson
8.
9.
10. Too many to list, need help!

Best in Wisconsin

For Wisconsin, Gene is decent. This thread is about TOP PLAYERS though. Wisconsin doesn't have anyone above, what I'll refer to as, national shortstop level. The best players from Wisconsin are Dave Coles, Johnny Fields, Duncan Kaufman, Randy Lamar and Jeff Carter. Gene can get action with all of those guys if he wants to find out where he stands.

For those of you that may not know, even now Jeff Carter is in a much different class than the other four mentioned here, although I respect all their games. Jeff Carter was top 10-15 in the world in 9 Ball (ask Archer, Earl, Nick, more) in 80s/90s, a US Open One Pocket Champion (may have been a major 1 pocket event, not the Open?), has a run of over 200 balls or more in staight pool, numerous WS State championships, and more. He deserves the credit!
