Top 10 players where you live.

Let me be the first to publicly state that I am much, much worse than Mr. Chavez at all pool games - and that's just fine with me, lol.

Not sure I'd consider him a NYC player, but if he's in the area, he's definitely among the best.

- Steve
Hey Steve,
I'm not sure he resides in NYC, He's just around alot..
Someone just brought him up as a NYC player.
I sure know he's ALOT better then me also:)
I'm sure he would have his hands full trying to play you straight pool..
I meant no slight to any of the good players on the list.
I've only seen him play 9-ball. He also came to my room to play me, and I couldn't get the right game out of him.. Probably a good thing..
Best,
Ken Kerner

I know its a tough NYC list, but I would also include these two:

1. Shin Park
2. Shaun Wilkie

Yeah, after some thought I think I'd switch a couple things. Atleast we see the top 8 people all the same. I'd probably agree on Jimmy above Gus, and maybe even Dennis right now as he's playing the best I've ever seen him play. It's hard not to include Jon Smith on the list as I've gotten to see him play quite a bit and think he beats Big Daddy in most games besides 1 hole.

My picks for NC!

These are my picks for NC! The order is tough.

1. Earl Strickland
2. Keith Bennett
3. Sammy Monday
4. Mike Fuller
5. Adam Pendley
6. BJ Ussery
7. Jeff Abernathy
8. Brady
The other 2 would be a toss-up between Derrick Leonard, Scott Lewis, Adam Stanton, Tony Morrison, Brian Capps, Eddie Little...ect..Too many to name.

how does az have ohio?

For those of you that may not know, even now Jeff Carter is in a much different class than the other four mentioned here, although I respect all their games. Jeff Carter was top 10-15 in the world in 9 Ball (ask Archer, Earl, Nick, more) in 80s/90s, a US Open One Pocket Champion (may have been a major 1 pocket event, not the Open?), has a run of over 200 balls or more in staight pool, numerous WS State championships, and more. He deserves the credit!

Jeff finished second to Ronnie in the 1984 (or '85) One Pocket tourney at Red's in Houston. ALL the top players were in the field. I staked Ronnie, that's how I know for sure. Jeff was a great all around player, just under guys like Varner, Rempe and Hopkins. And they're all in the HOF.

What I think..

1. Scott F. ( Rodney doesnt play here and it depends on the game)
2. Mitch E.
3. Gus B
4. Dennis O.
5. Jimmy M. (Doesn't play much)
6. Bobby E.
7. George T
8. Mike P.
9. Tres K.
10. Chuck E.

Every one of these guys could give Jon smith weight and win.

Smoke is smoke..........

Last time you were in Oshkosh you didn't want to play but hey, come down to Oshkosh and you can play Johnny some $200 sets, lock up $1,000.

Don't start with any excuses about the Varsity Club being smokey either because I've been in that place more than almost anyone and it NEVER gets smokey.

Put up whatever you want but not in the smoke. I'm diabetic and I can't even breath right after about 3 hours of that crap. I only tried to play there because Jeremy is a friend of mine.

2 months ago I swore I would never play in the smoke again. I screwed up that Galvaston tournament. Went to a pool hall with smoke and beat a guy out of 1500. It took me 6 days to feel human again. Same thing after Oshkosh.

If your judging my game by my performance there you probably think you would be stealing. He might win but I can guarantee it won't be stealing.

Let's play someplace that doesnt have smoke and we can bet whatever you want. I play with my own money too. No backer. I always have.

Give me a call. No sense woofing on here. Let's do it.

715-563-8712.......I'm ready............Geno............:rolleyes::grin:

Hey Lanny,

Long time no see...we've come a long way from the Oak Park Billiards days. Anyway, your right about Jeff. I see him rather regularly at Red Shoes and he has some of the best mechanics around and knows a ton about all games. Even if he doesn't play at his former level he is definately no slouch!

I've been at a tourny.

Gene has an offer to come play Johnny Fields bartable 9-ball. He doesn't seem to interested in responding though.

I'm going to Beloit on the 23rd.

Hi there,

I don't take my laptop to tournaments. I'd love to play Johnny. I hear he's a good kid and he plays good.

If i would have seen this I would have gotten ahold of you in about 10 seconds. I would love the action. I got Minneapolis plum wore out.

Call me. Lets do it. But no smoke. Geno...........

That's Big! And hilarious.

DFW Area

Big Doc
Big Bank
Big Juan
Big Jesse
Big Tommie
Big Moni
Big Firecracker
Big Trigger
Big Cuephoric
Big Truck
Big Perm (of course)

Everything is bigger in Texas.....that is why we have 11 players in our top 10.....our 9 foot tables are actually 10 foot.....we play snooker on a football field....just sayin

This weekend here in Tomah Wi we had a bar box team tournament at the Fair Grounds, players from all over the area were here, it is the same weekend every year, when players are not scheduled to play they are in the bars playing. If you guys think Wisconsin does not have any players, drop by, you will probably find some action. This year you could only smoke in a little room in the back, not in the tournament area, and man could you tell a difference.

Can I pick who I want first and work my way up?

For Wisconsin, Gene is decent. This thread is about TOP PLAYERS though. Wisconsin doesn't have anyone above, what I'll refer to as, national shortstop level. The best players from Wisconsin are Dave Coles, Johnny Fields, Duncan Kaufman, Randy Lamar and Jeff Carter. Gene can get action with all of those guys if he wants to find out where he stands.

I think we got the makings of some good action here in wisconsin again. I had a stroke, been diagnosed diabeteic, lost 50 pounds, and i'm as ready as I will ever be.

Now that I'm back it looks like someone is interested in finding out what the pecking order is here.

Action is good...............Geno...........

No smoke..................

I was just making a point of that tourney, not using it as a base for your ability. I never said you can't play, I'm just saying you can't play as good as a lot of people are thinking you can. The offer is on the table for you to come back and play Johnny on a bartable. You said you would play so get down here and do it.

And again, THE VARSITY CLUB DOES NOT GET SMOKEY!!! You are the first person I've EVER heard say that and I've been in that place since it was first opened as Bo Dudley's years and years ago.

I guess I'll have to wait for action until after July 3rd when all of wis will be smoke free.

You don't have to breath with my lungs. There's 50 cancer causing chemicals in second hand smoke. Look it up. Most of my friends that I hung out with are dead. Yes Cancer.

That's not a very good choice. You don't think it is very bad but it's like eating a little bit of poison. I prefer none.

Go sit in there on the weekend and take your cloths and smell them in the morning. Mine smelled like I needed to burn them. On the way home I had to take off my coat because it was burning my nose.

No smoke..... We got action. I'll even drive to another state.............that doesn't have smoke.

Good Luck Geno................

I'll give Minnesota a shot. I am not the authority that should be doing this list, it is open to change. I'll be the one to throw it out for argument. Don't hold me to the order:

1. Jimmy Wetch
2. Lee Heuwagen
3. Demi Jelatis
4. Beau Runningen
5. Jamie Pluta
6. Mario Parayano
7. Ty Wilson
8.
9.
10. Too many to list, need help!

This is a pretty good start.Adding Richie Cunningham would be right but he just moved to Colorado last month. But I'm sure he'll be back:wink:(10,000 lakes)but 8-10 you could say could be based on any given day between 5-10 players.
