How much extra are the taper bars? I think I may purchase this lathe from you in march.

Pictures of the taper bar. We are going to mount it here in a bit and see how it works.

THANKS!

On the outside it may look similar but high dollar bearings and inside is differant plus we have a DC motor/contoller on the headstock plus the heavy duty power feed with lead screw anf thrust bearings which is also DC motor controlled plus even though these chucks may look similar to ones that are out trust me there I assure you there Not these are very accurate I will have one at the derby city I wasnt going but changed my mind today after posting I wasnt going, got 4 or 5 calls from customers that were upset so I changed my plans ill be there with a working lathe check out the machine in person after seeing it work and how accurate it is ....well it will sell itself

carbid sanding arbors and new maintence kits coming soon!!!!
also our version of the true-adjust chuck it will have adjustment to zero it in
may will have some in time for the derby
also have a storm ready to go next week
thanks for looking

Would be better to quote some actual figures regarding accuracy rather than infer Chris' product is inferior. I am sure that wasn't your intent, but your writing makes it sound as if it is. Since Chris' product is well established, it would be in your best interest as well.

Well not knocking chris's machine someone compared mine to his just stating facts about mine there are many differant things we did in making this dc motors 2 of them our own chucks now our own dove tails lead screws also other internal things which we do when assembling the headstocks we have built a fiture so each headstock is assembled the same and since you asked after installing one of my 3/8-11 pins i put a dial indictor on the flat of the pin it was within 2 10ths I feel thats a respectable number and ill have this set up at derby for anyone to see just how things work

Hay Chris, If you wouldn't sell Lee all those parts it wouldn't look like your stuff.

All of your statements were qualitative(high dollar bearings, heavy duty....ect...ect). I think everyone would want to know how accurate your machine is(I believe someone else asked once already) considering the idea is the exact same as Chris' and his is proven...

Lee,
I try to stay out of your threads. But Max was refering to your "new" Taper Bars not all the other items that look like mine that you mentioned.

chris
Not that many ways to make a tapper bar it a pretty easy thing do do
you always have thought your the only one entilted to build a cue lathe
first you try and make it hard then impossible to buy the dove tails no problem i make my own now out of steel much more accurate.... then you try to get taig from selling me chucks no problem making my own now and also much more acurate but im still going to make lathes

first off my lathe is not like chris's
second as far as accuracy its right on I also mentioned runout less then 2 10ths i believe that answers your question as i said it will be at the derby if you have any doubts come on down

The IDEA IS EXACTLY THE SAME: a cue lathe.

You constantly advertise items that sometimes never materialize with almost impossible to digest descriptions that lack ANY of the important info someone would need to know.

You ask for input on a keyboard that costs 4 times as much, but seems identical to others, and when I ask why yours is better you bash me instead of taking opportunity to say why?

Several times I have seen ideas on here only to see an "any interest in these" coming from.....

You have bashed other manufactures before with your live centers....

Who could blame anyone from trying to stop their typical supplier from wanting to sell to you??(if this really happened)

I've never heard of bearing problems(any problems really) with any of Chris' products and yet you use your "heavy duty" bearings as a selling point in contrast to his.

I've never been able to get you on the phone either, Chris answers his every time. You also sent some samples of pins to one of my friends and when he called you neither answered or returned his message. He only produces 75 cues a year, so I guess that isn't much too lose....well except he might tell other ACA members...that might add up..

I'm glad your lathe is more than you hoped for, but I feel Chris' frustration and feel it is warranted.
